The Skeleton Warrior having the same attack sound as Death Knight iis because there aren't actually that many attack sounds in Warcraft 3, but every attack sound has a different sound when hitting flesh, stone, ethereal etc. armor, which is probably why they didn't want to record all these options for every single unit and just made fewer attack sounds.
