@@keithperry1641 I don't like to discuss or get into drama online, so I only have some cursory knowledge. But without going into details, Husky's for all intents and purposes moved on from his Starcraft casting days, and controversially basically burned all his past bridges and expunged his videos. He made a huge U-Turn in his content and basically decided to erase his Starcraft days, which a lot of people thought was a slap in the face to his own legacy - and apparently was quite thorny when asked about it. You can dig more into it if you're into it, but it's not something I personally know about - or admittedly care to learn more. As far as I'm concerned, he chose to pivot and move on from the past, however incendiary his methods, it's his own choice.

Its kind of interesting how good the lowest ranked players are in a game that is this old relatively speaking. E.g. they are all aware of the (hero) meta, know some efficiency tricks, base layouts are looking okay etc. They clearly all watched some pro games / have spent some time outside the game. If you'd look at AoE4 or something people wouldn't even know how many villagers are supposed to be on gold for age up and place buildings in random positions.

@@ambion19 True, that does skew it. Still I find the idea intriguing that if the game released yesterday these players would probably be in the top 30% or so with their gameplay. (That being "meta" vs no one knows what they are doing)

One really cool thing is that maGr did a lot of things he clearly learned from the pros (AoW creeping, dropping items to optimize healing, even forgetting to pick up tomes) with obviously worse micro and macro but still managed to win, thus he can infer that the strategies work so he can keep getting better at them. Cool game.

Could you do a video about "The Cube"? It was an old strategy back in the old days of Warcraft 3 where you would get three human heroes, creep fast, expand to a second gold mine, and build a 5x5 Tower cube there and then Rush the opponent with your heroes waiting for him to attack your cube. There was even a guild called "TeH CuBe". Thank you!!!

Love this format! Because you know all of this Players actually are interested in the community and likely will know about meta - why else will they know about w3champions ladder. So the "bad" players on this ladder are actually people that invest time in the game to learn, so it's the best games to analyze what errors they make on a level ongoing after the typical tutorial videos explaining build orders and so on. So its noob level paired with a high knowledge of the game on these players, which makes this very interesting to analyze.

I'd say that for low-level wc3 almost all you need is just focus on your own base/resource management, tech timings and creeping. I remember myself wandering across the map with no plan, like this guy. I could have been creeping instead, which would give me experience and items. Fixing that issue helped me a lot. Both in wc3 and in LoL.

champions is really cool with all that features. i totally share your opinion and experience. in my case, the games were wow, wot and a browser game. so my first situation were i thought, that to take over a pros meta, was in wow. it was a desaster^^ but its still happening in actual games or in classic. people are trying to be better or to look informed/important by having the meta skilltree or playstyle, but cant do it. they triy it without the right items (exspecially weapon^^) ect. there are a lot of cases, where players are more efficient, better or just having more fun when they play like they want or are capable of. and over time these pick up details, getting used to strategies and can do more stuff. in world of tanks i remember the guys who didnt know about passive scouts^^ other player were pushing them out, because there "werent" scouing to their opinion :D but the problem in most of cases is, that you cant argue/discuss with them, like in wc3 ladder too. like in one of the last videos. i only watch sc2 and wc3 from pros when they do funny or complete different stuff. the opponent things about "shitty strat, learn toplay ect" but the pro is so good, that es bored or good enough to even win with normally crap stuff :D and in their rage they argue that they would have won when grubby had played meta? really? or in sc2 when beasty or thermal do these funny things, its awesome. some of these funny stuff need so much micro and practice (of course knowledge) and map/enemy awareness, that most shouldnt even think about to try tht^^

Watching this is both interesting and informative, but also just so, SO demotivating... the lowest rank in W3C just seems 100x more competent than my level, no wonder when I played there I had a 1-27 w/l rate.. and the win coming from someone who pity quitted.. BNet is somewhat better but queues take forever and often just end up putting me against someone who's a lot better =/

The kinds of players that would even get involved with something like W3C is already significantly ahead of beginners. These players are obviously not beginners. It wouldnt surprise me if these 1000 MR players have played warcraft 3 for over 10 years now. So don't get discouraged losing to anyone using W3C. Just watch your own replays and reflect on what you can improve in your own game, rather than beating yourself up over losing.
