What comes next is thawing economic relationship between these two Asian nations. Modi made a huge mistake 4 years ago, instigating a border issue with China. He expected China to give concession, as China was at the height of trade war and tech war with US at that time. But the plan backfired. Instead, China gave India a bloody nose. India and China's economic relationship froze up. Worst yet, Trump left office soon after, along went the promises of more FDI and friendshoring. In the last 4 years, Modi managed to keep a semi-active relationship with Biden, attending QUAD meetings and Indo-Pacific meetings. But there is very little real investment for India's infrastructure and manufacturing ecosystem. Just a lot of hot money flooding to India Stock Market. Now, with the India China border resolved, there is a chance to resume the economic relationship with China, for the REAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, in the areas of infrastructure and manufacturing ecosystem. Further, India is trying to put pressure on US, showing it that India can do without US. But at the end, both US and China will treat India as a nation that sits on the fence, swinging its legs to the US/EU camp or Russia/China camp, when the price is right. So, both will smile to India, with a little concession here and there. But not much, just enough to keep India sitting on the fence.
