All too often we are guilted into feeling We should do 'this or chase that' with our lives. I even feel it at 57 a little. Still find myself comparing my life to friends family or even strangers. I often joke about the fact that I've honed low achievement into perfection 😁 But the truth is that the only thing that's important is health and happiness. The rest is just a bonus if it comes along. You're on the right road for sure! I totally get the buying milk scenario. That little feeling in the stomach when I have to be pretend to be a grown up and take charge of life's shit. 😁

That can often be the hardest part . . . doing fun things is always going to be fun, paying the piper is another story. We sometimes fear our own potential greatness and the responsibilities that come with it. Isn’t it incredible how hard it is sometimes to say yes to happiness ? I’ve been through the whole “pandemic > isolation > anxiety to view people/friends again > avoiding invitations” cycle, it took me years to change this, say YES, and turn it into happy moments again. Oddly (or rather not), the two things that unlocked it were the one you mentioned : stop caring about what others might think of me, and stop believing that what I think of myself is necessarily the truth. This also pairs with daring to say NO to things/people that really don’t make you happy, and it’s not as easy as saying yes to please others. Sorry for yet another long “I feel the same” comment 😅. I’m happy you went all “carpe diem”, and that you take us along with you for the fun to come 😊

Aww Ellie, you got me rather emotional right at the end of this one, and I don't mind admitting that. Those around me know a bit of how I've had a tough emotional journey in my past which took a lot of soul searching and self-determination to pull through from, so you can probably start to imagine why I love watching your channel and your normally upbeat and zany life on camera. When you have this courage to show your feelings on camera and share your ups and downs, it hits the mark for me, and probably a lot of others too who may have had their own personal battles which we find difficult to talk about never mind talk to the world about online.... But believe me - you're a breath of fresh air when you do stuff like this... I think a lot of followers felt that you needed to do what's best for you and not feel under pressure to upload just because you have this channel, so thankfully you took the right steps at the right time before you burnt yourself out trying too much too quickly.
