I didn't know that for years and years and always wondered by it always looked like shit. Or to peel off tape while the polish is wet. when I used to do my nails, I never applied topcoat before something else like peeling. I would let the first coat dry fully, and then if using tape taking the excess stickiness in my hand so it does not stick too harsh on the nail and when you remove it it leaves the design without ruining the first coat.

How long do you need to wait then? Because I’ve waited around 20 minutes until the polish seemed very dry and things still go wrong if it’s not sealed. I do usually use really cheap polish, so that may be a factor too.
