I think a takeaway from this video (and the voiceover only trend in general) is more than just the importance of visuals, but that we must advocate for clear and precise instructions in tutorial videos. Those who cannot see the video and have to rely solely on the voice should still be able to carry out the task as well!

The instructions were pretty clear but I think that she needs to include the fact that top coats and letting the polish dry is important becuz it seems like she left that out... How long do you need to wait then? Because I’ve waited around 20 minutes until the polish seemed very dry and things still go wrong if it’s not sealed. I do usually use really cheap polish, so that may be a factor too.

I think it’s fair that Cristine struggled with the ones that involved tape to make patterns when Cute Polish didn’t specify to let it dry or add a top coat. That’s one of the things I’ve always appreciated about Cristine’s nail art videos is the “add a quick dry top coat and let dry twenty minutes” like she’s super clear and precise with her directions, even if she says “glossy taco” Cute Polish didn’t even say to apply liquid latex, only said to remove it. That’s kind of misleading even with visuals.
