Idk about other places, but at my school, the science teacher taught us the importance of being explicit and detailed about instructions by having us all write instructions for how to make a pb&j and then he picked a few and followed the instructions literally. One guy didn't include ''open the jar' but said 'put the peanut butter on one of the bread pieces' ' he literally just put the whole jar on the bread. It was kind of ridiculous and overdramatic, but the point was to assume that the person reading your instructions has no frame of reference, and to be as precise as possible, of course that particular exercise was for writing out lab instructions, and, in say chemistry, or any hazardous type of science, doing something wrong can be disastrous. This reminded me of that a lot, tutorials are obviously different because they usually have a visual component, but it's interesting to see how the instructions alone, when presented without any explanation or example, can be interpreted incorrectly.

My teacher had us all draw monsters and then describe how to redraw the monsters all the way down to the specific measurement and angles of the lines, then we were given someone else's instructions without their drawing and told to draw their monster. I don't remember how well the instructions I followed went, but I do remember that the monster I wrote instructions for was a mew-two esque creature with a protective bubble surrounding it, and the person following my directions did a really good job, except I forgot to specify that the bubble was its own thing and the entire rest of the creature would be in the center, not touching the circle at all.... so my thin psionic monster became a fat ball thing with very specific lines

A polar bear is white and a snowstorm is basically just a bunch of white, and if it's bad enough then all you can see is white. So, she painted white on her nail because it's a bad snowstorm and there is a polar bear who is the same color as the snowstorm, therefore all you need to paint is white
