15-20 mil or so that I decimate down. I don't really keep track haha

Hi, I'm an illustrator. I usually draw stylized characters. I've noticed that some people on KZbin sculpt digitally with only one image as a reference. I'm thinking about trying this to save time since I usually draw out all 3 angles before I begin sculpting. Do you think I could save even more time by just skiping the drawing part altogether and going straight to sculpting? I'd rough it out until it looks like how I'd draw it. Or is it better to have a drawing to base it on?
