I lived in rialto until 1967. My dad would always take me there when there was cars going. He was friends of stone wood cook willys guys. Fond memories

I raced there in 69 and 70 with my 67 Dodge R/T 440. Lots of great memories. Won $750 one Sunday.

And now we have lost the new Fontana, it sucks because it was a really nice track and a full 1/4 mile.😢

When I was learning to drive a stick when I was 16 in 1985, much of the track was still there. My dad took me there to teach me how to drive a stick shift. It was a great place because there were no one else out there.

I lived down the road from it when we first moved to Southern California in August 1978. The track was still there as well as the tower, nothing else. There was dirt/rubble across track every so many feet all the way down it. It was just to the North of Foothill Blvd., East of East Ave.. The track ran along the old wash that was/is there, from Southwest to Northeast. It was on the East side of the wash. It was pretty cool seeing it and still remember walking over there and looking it over, all those many years ago.

Frank Lucas I grew up in Alta Loma 1978-99 and used to see the tower when driving along foothill until at least late 1980’s-early 90’s, was sad to see it gone when houses started being built

Thanks for the insight....been trying to find it for years. I went there once in 1965, and watched the "Surfers" walk away with the cash. I grew up in Lakewood, Ca...so Lions was only 8 miles away ( as the crow flys), making it my weekly hangout. What was cool, on certain calm nights especially when the cool moist air set in, I could sit in my backyard and here the fuelers run. My icon is a picture I took in 1964 at Lions of the famous "yellow car" of Greer-Black & Prudhomme taken with my ol' Kodak Brownie camera.

The parking lot you see in the video is being utilized by Water of Life Church which is on East Avenue. As you mentioned no other structures can be placed there due to the power lines. It is amazing to think that the main part of the strip is all covered with housing and is safe to say no one has a clue of the incredible racing history that would run right their living rooms.

Actually the starting line would be close to the north end of Jamestown Circle. If you look at the Mickey Thompson 200 MPH MEET(kzbin.info/www/bejne/fIW2YmaMoZaarLc, you will see Foothill Blvd in the back ground looking towards the starting line. I spent a lot of time at this track back in the 60s
