It certainly has a full developed song that is not just a few chords and some singing. I would have to agree there are not many anime opening songs that can stack up to this one. Heck you can play this one in a lounge or pub somewhere and people will ask what song is that. Then be surprised to here anime isn't just junk cartoons many grew up believing. The cartoons of today are pretty much trash low effort animation. Meanwhile you have actual anime stomping the yard on story and visual style. Standards have plummeted in normal cartoons made today. Good thing somebody invented anime and it held itself to a higher standard.
