A guitar lesson for "Generator" off of Foo Fighters' 1999 album There Is Nothing Left to Lose.
Another great Foos track in the key of A. In this tutorial, I walk through the main riff (on the record it's played with a talkbox) and every section of the song. It's not too difficult, but there is a lot of movement up and down the fretboard throughout "Generator." The song is in standard tuning.
"Generator" is one of my favorite Foos tracks and, similar to "Aurora," it's one of the hidden gems and most underrated songs they've released over their 20+ year career. This song echoes Peter Frampton and Joe Walsh for a 70's rock-influenced meets 90's Foo Fighters rock sound. It's a fun one to play along to.
