he is full of shit. IMO of course. He cant admit its about kurt and his wife. Too many tie ins with the lyrics. He could have changed several to stop people from thinking it is about kurt but he did not. He at least admitted when he wrote it he knew the correlation would be made. Of course it would because it is. I bet my left arm on it. Its also their best song imo. He sings it more passionately than most.
