Can't believe this was 8 year's ago. I worked at this festival, with the idea being to get some extra cash. Plus see Foo Fighters LIVE! Long story short slept in a field in a shitty tent for days, got abuse from thousands of festival goers, had aching feet & legs from working long hours for short money. HOWEVER come Sunday evening none of that mattered as I trudged through inches of mud up to see Foo Fighters LIVE in to this day probably the best gig I've ever been too. Foo were amazing. They were electric! Great memories. Sidenote, my wife just got me tickets for Foo Fighters in August for my birthday! Can't wait :)

Joe Faith I've seen Pearl Jam and they are statues on stage. Foo straight rocks the house down every time. PJ plays one tired version after another, Vedder occasionally opines in a strange mumbling voice in-between chugs of wine, and then another tired song… Cornell is one of the best, no way clear to an argument here…Vedder though? He either shrieks, yodels, or does a weird monotone voice. Matt Cameron is nowhere near the drummer Taylor Hawkins is, and Foo continues to put out amazing records. ear of the beholder suppose ;)

I checked PJ in Chicago & they were fucking amazing. Dave Grohl is a drummer and his voice sucks it is nowhere near frontman material in terms of range or depth/tone. You want to talk about voice shreaking how about that torture they call a song 'best of you' compare pearl jams first record ten with foo fighters. But like you said ear of the beholder, to each his own;)

The songwriting is awesome. The delivery is great. No gimmicks. Just badass. Schiflit, Smear, and Grohl give the band some serious credibility, but the term supergroup is not so fitting for Foo. Unless you meant they are super, than sure.

The way they make up interludes and shit right in the middle of songs on the spot is really impressive instead of just rushing through songs and ending after the hour mark, makes you think they still really love doing what they do
