@@dylanbaldwin7934 As someone who despises Nirvana, I only see a few similarities with them (as in like, some musical arrangement techniques, etc.) in Foo Fighters... At least, with what I've listened to, which isn't every track off every album by any means. But I quite like the early Foo Fighters with tracks like Aurora, Next Year, Generator, etc. And more recent tracks like La Dee Da, Sunday Rain, Walk, The Pretender, etc. And imo, none of those sound anything like Nirvana in the slightest; Nirvana stripped away the intrigue and mystique of music, while Dave Grohl with Foo Fighters sort of did the complete opposite. Even with these 3 new tracks, they're each super distinct to one another. I don't think Foo Fighters have done super amazing music 24/7, but I think when Dave and the others do a good track, they do a REALLY good track!

@grantkgoacher4 жыл бұрын
I think you’re right. Wasting Light was perfect in my opinion, and for me, it was the right direction for the band. Sonic Highways while it had a few good songs, I started to feel that the band was losing a bit of it’s edge. It was a little too commercial sounding. Concrete and Gold is where I really fell off the Foo Fighters train. I tried to like it, but I just couldn’t. I’m already feeling the same about the songs from Medicine at Midnight. What really pisses me off is the backup singers, and also Rami as a full time member. Rami was good in the Wallflowers, but I just don’t see why the Foo Fighters need keys in their band. It just takes away the Foo’s edge. Chris and Taylor doing backing vocals was good enough to fill that space. You don’t need backup singers Dave, you already have two guys who can do that. I was ok with the band being a 5 piece with Pat back in the band because it’s a guitar driven band, and he fills a little bit more space especially in the live performances. The Colour and the Shape sounds so good because of Pat on rhythm guitar, so It’s good that he’s back. I miss the more simplified Foo Fighters like from the early 2000s though. Hopefully maybe they’ll go back to that eventually.
@blueman07144 жыл бұрын

@@grantkgoacher until Saint Cecilia, They were way better than now
@grantkgoacher4 жыл бұрын
@@blueman0714 I enjoyed Saint Cecilia quite a bit so good point. I think it was a good small collection of songs, which In my opinion should’ve been the way to go on C&G. It felt a little bit like old school Foos. I didn’t hate Sonic Highways, but there was plenty of throw away material on that album. C&G to me feels like a failed Concept Album with plenty of throw away stuff. The Sky is a Neighborhood and Run were good of course, but the rest of that album just bores me to death. I don’t like that they work with Greg Kurstin now because he’s a pop producer and completely removes any raw qualities about Foo Fighters. I want to hear another Foo Fighter record with the 5 piece lineup, no keys, and produced by either Adam Kasper, Gil Norton, or another Butch Vig album in Dave’s Garage would be amazing. The Black Keys went back to being more raw and replaced the keys with two more guitar players. I’m sure you can have Chris or Pat doing Keyboard parts with effects. I just want them to simplify themselves, and try to write music the way they did back in the good old days.
