This has been my theme song for 2020. My Dog Stella died back in June and this song helped me to process my grief. It also helped me through the pandemic, reminding me that in times like these you can still find happiness. Thank you Dave, and the rest of the Foo Fighters for helping me find the strength to keep going in spite of every horrible thing that has happened this year. Edit: Thanks for the kind comments and R.I.P. to Taylor Hawkins

Not gonna lie, this song, this song is still helping me get through the death of my mum. This is therapy for me, I remember walking out of the hospital in the early hours of the morning having that line in my mind " I, I'm a new day rising I'm a brand-new sky to hang the stars upon tonight. I, I'm a little divided Do I stay or run away and leave it all behind? I play guitar and I've never gotten past that bit without a crack on my voice. Gdnight mum, love you. Love Dave, love foos.

I've learned the best way to fill that empty hole in your heart is to fill it little by little with the memories you cherish of the one you loved and lost. It may never be sewn all the way up, but you'll slowly begin to mend it back together again. Stay strong and keep moving forward.

You cannot appreciate this version of Times like these until you hear every other other version. They have made it bigger and bolder in orchestral fashion, they have stripped it down acoustically, and they have played it as a super charged rock song. Now they have stripped it back to its bare bones yet it is still so full of emotion: so new yet just as awesome.
