In Southern Vietnamese, when a word ends in '-n' is it pronoung like '-ng'? Thầy Phi definitely always sounds like he is pronouncing it like this. I live in Sài Gòn and study vietnamese here but my teachers don't do this bc they are from the North. I just wonder if this is common in Southern Vietnam or not? I also have trouble differentiating 'trưa' and 'chưa'...so 'Anh chưa..' and 'Ăn trưa' becomes confusing.

Yeah in the southern accent you pronounce an -n like -ng. Check out their pronunciation videos, they explain everything

@@JRTiengViet-fw5hv I think I may have seen him mention it before. I'll check it out again. The problem in Saigon is that it's a melting pot of Vietnamese from all over so some people will tell me I'm pronouncing it incorrectly. I just want to choose a way and be consistent.

No comedy skit with Phi

Yeah, it's so sad. I have to speak really slowly for beginners and can't add any comedy to the skit. Maybe there will be more later, LOL.
