Corruption is so high in Canada, such a rich country but the poeple are broke. Where is all of this money going to? All of these taxes, where are they going? Where is the allocation of the money going to? Huge country, massive amounts of resources, not much population...the corruption is massive....almost worst than developing countries.

Shame on canada for having workers depend on frigging charity while we are working so dame hard and still cant make ends meet. All fruits of our hard labour are being funneled to a tiny but powerful class of people who own everything. They are rich and can take care of themselves , but their selfish needs are given all the attention while the poor and working class have little to no representation or voice.

There was a time when I as a single Mom could barely feed my 2 kids. I did not smoke, drink, do drugs or go out partying. I bought my kids second hand clothes and my dishes, furniture etc either came from the dollar store or second hand store. We had a food bank near the house and when I would drive by it people smoked outside, arrived in expensive vehicles and were better dressed than we were. I drove an old beater of a car. I am not against helping people but I notice smokers don't complain about the price of cigarettes.

I live on the same block as a food bank in Toronto. It's pretty common to see people in line with nicer clothes than me and an Iphone in their hand. The food comes in white containers. After the line is served and everyone goes home theres about 50 of the containers half eaten or barely touched thrown all over the sidewalk and walls of the buildings. Three times a week i walk through it on my way to work.

I'm on disability benefits in Québec Canada. There's only 1 food bank in the city I live in and because I receive $1400 per month, my rent is $600 and phone is $35 per month, I can't use the food bank at all. This food bank determines your access to it by how much you make and what your expenses are. In Ottawa Ontario, I was making the same amount but my expenses were about $200 or so for rent for me and my girlfriend at the time. I still had access to the food bank in that city. That was before 2016. The policies are probably different today. What's worse is that I saw people who owned BMW's going to the food bank in my current city.

git rid of the carbon tax and taxes on logistics (its Canada, the second largest country in the world for goodness sake), raise rates, reduce government spending (no more monetary easing), and increase long term bond yields to shore up the dollar. Not only giving food but teaching people to make the most of what they are given would be a good idea. Do people know how to make soup anymore? I mean from broth and vegetables! My mother always had a pot of homemade soup, on the stove, it was potato in winter in summer it was vegitable. Most things were homemade from whatever she could get. People rely too much on packaged food which can be expensive. My mother would take soup she had made to a food kitchen. She would never see anyone go hungry.

Does anyone still remember when we didn’t need food banks? When there was a middle class, built on good union jobs? I remember. Can we work to get that back again? It is possible. Meanwhile, the Government of Saskatchewan is privatizing all of our existing Saskatchewan Liquor Board stores, eliminating 350 MORE good union jobs that can actually support families. All in the midst of an economic crisis for families. This is what to expect when you elect Conservative governments. Vote, and think before you vote!

Even after all this massive spending of billions of dollars in this country you still have situations like this country. Unfortunately for Canada the standard of living is declining and more and more individuals are going to find themselves in this predicament. The collapse of the Canadian dollar is not helping either. Imported goods are becoming more expensive, especially from the US. Inflation and the ever-increasing cost of living are driving more more people to the food banks. So government you just keep jacking up that carbon tax and putting more and more people into poverty!
