TRACKING improvement FIRST STEP: a UPDRS test, a push test with video, a walking and turning test with video, a talking test with video and possibly a writing test with video, standing from seated on hard back chair video with your arms crossed. These videos are kept on file to be used for comparison with future videos. This is a fairly accurate means of documenting improvements over time as it is actually fairly easy for some people to not realize how much they have improved over time.

Some good points in the presentation but it also demonstrates the ignorance or a deliberate effort to recognize a low carb high fat diet or ketogenic diet as extremely beneficial in preventing or managing dementia diseases.

Eating fermented foods helped my loved one with constipation. I learned how to make fermented sauerkraut & Kombucha . Both are delicious & easy to make. They both need to ferment for about a week so there is a little planning ahead that is needed.

You should actually be reducing carbs or sugars, and eating fewer meals and snacking.

Additionally patients with pd could do the most mild versions of fasting for example 12-16 hours max. Not a day on and then a day off. That would be too extreme for them

Just wonderful, been searching for "what does a neurologist do for parkinson's" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Piyaliyah Prominent Prepotence - (should be on google have a look ) ? It is an awesome one off guide for discovering how to reverse Parkinsons disease minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my m8 got amazing success with it.

My mom want to quit Carbidopa/Livadopa, and do healthy Keto with maybe a mild Fast 12-16h and exercise, isn't Parkinson's disease a condition related to the metabolism of glucose, could this help?

I don’t think it’s a good idea for her to quit sinimet. In my opinion her symptoms will get worse and it’s going to be hard on her.

the slide on Intermittent fasting Really didn’t do a good job at explaining the potential benefits for PD patients. If combined with the mind diet or ketogenic diet intermittent fasting could actually be beneficial. You can drink water while fasting and it’s recommended that you do stay well hydrated no matter what, especially with pd so I’m not sure why that was mentioned on that slide

Move your protein for late in the day. You need protein for good nutrition. Food, order of eating your food. If you have taken l-dopa one hour before the meal it would also be helpful to eat some greens first, fruit and protein last. Thereby you delay the digestion of the protein. Greens digest slower than meat.

I am insulin sensitive. Any sugar or carbs cause insulin to peak. Then I start to pee a lot and will do it until the sugar spike has gone away. It causes tremendous dehydration and constipation. No amount of bulky fiber is going to help. In fact, much of the time it makes it worse. So I eat once a day and I eat no carbs, no carbs at all. I eat digestible protein like salmon and egg. I am trying a new thing . I make chocolate smoothie from scratch-no sugars. I will have organic coco powder, Coconut butter, cream, avocado, organic ground flax seed, monk fruit, stevia and ice in it . I put some bulk supplements I take in the smoothie so I don't have to choke down the pills. I can add a protein powder to this as well. Still looking for the perfect fit on that though. Avoid dehydration by staying away from foods that mess up your digestion. You have to get your stomach and intestines in order. Never over eat. That causes acid reflux. Always make sure your bowels are moving . If not I will drink a herbal tea with Miralax in it every evening to keep things moving. Don't over do it though. That can be just as bad as constipation you are trying to relieve. Good luck and pleasant journey my friend..
