The trailblazing food writer first made a name for herself working at the Los Angeles Times before taking her expertise east to the New York Times. Then she took over as editor-in-chief of Gourmet magazine in 1999. Reichl joins "CBS This Morning" to discuss her new book, "Save Me the Plums: My Gourmet Memoir," opening up about her decade running Gourmet.

As a child would seek out gourmet magazines. My father and mother were huge tag sales fans. While they searched out their treasures I searched mine. Gourmet magazines. I owned so many of them and there’s a file in my list of recipes for the last touch. Some I make often some I’ve never made but they are there for me. Gourmet magazine was my life at that time.
