In my honest opinion, it should be considered defamation of characters to knowingly make a copyright claim on fair use content. Because they are effectly accusing you of a crime, copyright infringement. And KZbin should get into legal trouble for not taking fair use into account. Channels have been outright banned in the past for excessive copyright claims when their content falls under fair use but youtube doesn't care. If they started getting fined for it they might start actuallycaring

A hungry enough lawyer might make a name for themself dealing with this. Less has been argued to a favorable verdict. 🤷🏻♂

This platform is a joke, there are still users getting away with the old Ray William Johnson trick of uploading a copy of the video they want to take down, setting it to private and then claiming that the original creator is infringing their copyright! If the creator fights back they will win, but this requires hiring legal representation and handing over all of your private information to the copyright ab*ser! It happens across all areas of KZbin with no willingness to address it and i think that is what has happened to Brian here

I love you guys, and the only chef I care for that is/used to be on Food Network is Alton Brown. I loved his Good Eats series, he has helped me expand my cooking with those videos. And you guys have also gotten me interested in many different types of cuisine and foods. So thank you guys! My husband has the Shirt + Mug combo for SYWGF, and I have the frenchy shirt. We will always support you guys in any way we can. Love y'all!

Back in 1970, I was apprenticed to a French Chef until I joined the USN in '72. Lobster Thermador, Sweet Breads, the five French mother sauces and some derivatives. Anyway, I never worked in another kitchen but always cook holiday dinners for family usually 12-19 people. I watched the Food Network for new ideas but only found Sous Vide there. They are as outdated as me.

1) Definitely react to Brian's video with Frenchy... 2) If you can, you might consider moving the big monitor down a bit - it's a bit weird watching you guys staring off into the heavens while you're watching the videos... 3) Can you capture the streaming video by recording in OBS and using that as the video source?

Food Network just became the network of food competitions. I do watch a few of them but I miss the good ol’ days when it was just about the food and having people follow along with a recipe and cook. Although the amount of Guy Fieri shows is a bit much in my opinion 😨

Fair use isn't a blanket get out of jail free card. Fair use has to be defended in court but most groups know that these reactions benefit them. Not defending food network but people largely don't understand that fair use isnt just a blanket thing you get to decide while reacting to someone else's intellectual property.

Is it bad that I haven't watched TV in so long I thought Food Network was already defunct and shut down? Regardless, it's their loss, in general you should approach them and Bobby Flay and negotiate for the rights to the episodes you 2 were on, especially given that this would fall under fair use, and I'm not sure they have the right to use your likeness in perpetuity.

dude food network has been outdated and out of touch for the last 10-15 years. no NEW shows or series, no NEW faces and personalities, every show is a recycled method of chopped or iron chef, every chef/ cook is either the bobby flay and alex era, or new faces with copy paste personalities. its been bland like their cooking and Zacharian's personality.

Unfortunately FN is no longer a network that teaches you how to cook, it's become the Guy Network. Nothing but stupid reality shows run by a bunch of people who think they know what people think, they don't care what other people think of there decisions. If I could get rid of this channel from basic cable I'd do it, unfortunately I can't.
