That is where freezing on cookie trays are superior! Then you can just bang them or pop them off with fingers. It saves extra steps in my opinion.

Oh man my son from another mother blessed me yesterday with 2-1/2 grab it bags of apples, just got 6quarts of pie filling done and a case of pint green beans and just pick more for later and a quart of cherry tomatoes. Will try tomato preserves. Its been so hard because been so sick the passed few days.

Hahah. We go through nine gallons of milk a week. Not only do we use it for baking but we love to drink it as well! Rarely do we ever have milk go bad. If it goes sour…. Not curdled…. We still use it for pancakes and cooking! It’s like using curdled milk (in a pinch buttermilk with milk and lemon juice or vinegar) However… I have never thought of freezing it. That is an idea I am willing to try! Some people say it is not as good, but I do take my elderberries and dehydrate them. Pretty simple to do. I have had good success in doing that. I have also put them in brown paper sacks and then placed them in the freezer. When you take them out, just shake the bag and they fall off the stems. I love elderberry syrup. I had no idea it was that expensive! I will baby my bush for sure!!

@@alindalt2897 we just haven’t ever been big milk drinkers, so it’s hard to go through even 1 gallon in a week. I’m also a huge fan of powdered buttermilk for cooking, but do use regular when we have it. Thanks for watching, and I hope to see you back soon!

I would love to begin canning. Is the electric canner beginner friendly? I’m loving your channel. I’m learning a lot of techniques later in life. My youngest daughter (26) is learning right along with me.

Hey Gina! I would say the electric is the EASIEST way to learn. The Presto that I have came with a laminated sheet that gives both water bath and pressure canning. I just store it inside the unit so it’s there when needed every time, alone with the cord. If you can use an Instapot, you can use this one! Make sure to check the link in the description if you do decide purchase. I’m glad you’re finding my channel helpful! I forgot to ask you about the raw milk. When you freeze it in bags, does it separate the cream when thawed? I'm having issues getting the cream to be incorporated when I freeze in Mason jars. Just wondering if it's better with your method. I had been trying to use the frozen for drinking but the cream always separates so my little guys obviously think it's gross. I'm sure it doesn't matter if you're using for cooking gravy but im hoping you know of a way to freeze it where cream doesn't separate when thawed. Sorry if this is a silly question.
