GUSH, I can't take away my eyes from the Justin Tieng co-host, so striking. Kanino ba siyang anak, is she native-born here, or a Chinoy who grew up from somewhere like Canada? The stress and distresses of going to Binondo is mainly relieved or compensated for by the food to be found there, many of these delicacies cannot be found or can be ably duplicated elsewhere. If its prepared and cooked in Binondo I call that artisanal cooking and I am always looking forward to partake of them, and still does, even after 42 years of roaming its dirty (ancham) streets and chaotic motions. Sad thing that now that I'm going to my senior years, going there is like going to a pilgrimage, you might be able to do it only once a year, or even once in every five years, and if coming from the province -- once you resolved to do THE visit, by the time you get there -- you're "wasted" by the travel, wala ka nang appetite by the time you'll take your first bite. What then to do if you truly want to savour Chinatown's zeitgeist? For me, one should sleep on Manila or in Chinatown itself, then make the tour in the morning after. That way one is not wearied by the travel, nakapagpahinga na. Then do the food crawl, but to do it in two to three days so that you could truly savour the flavours of each dish. Yung ginagawa ng karamihan, not just vloggers, they'd compressed all the eating in one day, which I don't think is truly ideal to be able to extract the pleasure of each dish. Not many has the stomach of Joey Chestnut who could imbibed 60 hotdogs in five minutes, if you don't have the eating capacity like him, I don't think one could do "justice" in partaking one food's specialness if the eater fleets 3 to 4 restaurants in a day. This episode though is more authoritative than many other Binondo-food vlogging, unlike those run of the mill postings, Yatco has the street and culinary creed to adjudged the dishes, not just to pronounced everything as "masarap" ad nauseam....
