I would just love to say that I genuinely enjoy watching Featr's content now more than ever. Thank you Erwan and team for continuously producing really good videos that spark conversations about Filipino food & its various aspects. Ever since the rebrand, I found myself looking forward to watching more videos like this and the short documentaries on Ube, and the Ifugao Etag & traditional ceremonies revolving around food. Keep doing amazing work, always looking forward to the next video!

I'm a big fan of Erwan because he's a well-rounded individual. He's not just a pretty face, but he's also intelligent, humble, and down-to-earth. He's always willing to learn new things and share his knowledge with others. I'm particularly impressed by his passion for food and his commitment to promoting Filipino and Mindanaon cuisine. I didn't even know that Palapa is made from a special scallion. Amazing!

As someone who grew up together with the Muslim community in our city, I really appreciate that there are local KZbin channels like this that feature this cuisine. Very underrated but also very flavorful. I hope Muslim food gets featured a lot. Now that I have moved to a bigger city, I always introduce my friends to beef rendang and other Muslim food and they always love it especially those who enjoy spicy food.

It's quite interesting to know how Maranao food is more of an Indonesian food - the green curry sauce, the chili/sambal, duck/bebek and how they describe the smell. What you see is what you get. And it's Far different from what we have in the North. Also, I admire how Erwan showcases the diversity of Filipino food (and how he revolutionize them) which made me want to explore more of our own. Keep it up! -Filipino expat here in Indonesia

This is the type of vlogs that enriches your life 😊. Hoping na marami pang Pinoy manood nito specially mga kabataan natin para maging culturally aware tayo.

Erwin is truly an ambassador of Philippine culture. I’ve learned so much from him when it comes to geography, cuisine and way of life . I strongly believe that the Phil government should give him recognition for his research and effort and for opening our eyes and minds in the beauty of the Philippines . He has explored the regions in the Phil that are not known to many of us, specially in Mindanao. Truly, he is an amazing person.

I agree with the "slow burn" of how the world is finally getting to know Filipino cuisine in general might be the safest way especially since the world has been familiarized with Asian and Southeast Asian cuisines. The best part about Filipino cuisine is, as this episode suggests, encompasses a variety of dishes from the south to the north. Once again another great episode Featr! Thank you!

I love your videos because they are really well produced - the quality of the videos is on par or even better sometimes than those that are made by big tv networks. Also, the channel does not dwell on what's popular just to get views, it also features certain topics that are needed to be given attention to, like our calamansi and ube production. Sobrang inspiring at nagising diwa ko. Actually half guilty Rin ako kase, mabuti pa kayong mga mestizo nakakagawa Ng paraan para maipagmalaki Yung mga pagkaing Pinoy samantalang Yung mga puro, e gusto laging mga pagkain sa ibang bansa Ang pinagmamalaki Yung bang tipong mas gusto pa nilang ipagmalaki Yung street food Ng ibang bansa, kesa sa street food dito sa Pinas. Kaya Salamat sa pagembrace nyo sa pagiging Pilipino nyo. 😊

I have watched only a few of your videos thus far. I find them interesting. Also, I appreciate the effort. I look forward to more of these videos. Watching them also remind me of my own experiences. I have been blest to go around the country and immerse with the local communities as I practised my profession then. It has always been my practise to check out the markets wherever I went. Not just for the technical side of my job. Simply, I firmly believe that if one wants to get to know the community, a visit to the market can be a revelation. I can relate a lot with your efforts as well since I am also a food enthusiast. But then again, I am Filipino and we Filipinos bond with family and friends over food. Sometimes, make new friends with food too, with lots of genuine smiles. The Philippine culture is diversity itself. It's just a pity that even many Filipinos in these times are almost only familiar with cuisine from Metro Manila, the big modern cities or those from the more popular regions/provinces like Bicol and Pampanga and think of them as entirely representative of Philippine cuisine. Actually, it's not even just with food. Fashion, practices, etc. are quite different from each region/province. Anyway, Maranao food is Filipino food, of course. It may be similar to Indonesian or another neighbour's food -- we do share some things with our Asian neighbours apart from influences from Chinese, Spanish, American, etc. (just like in music, exposure to others means many influences from all around) -- doesn't mean to say they are so and so dishes. All you're experiencing throughout the whole country is the summation of FILIPINO food. The need to relate it to previous experiences elsewhere is understandable. That's very human. Still, in the end, unlike some, I have never made excuses for our food (maalat, oily, unhealthy daw, weird, etc.). I can only be proud of our own culinary culture -- from Batanes to Jolo.

Great job going to the Maranao restaurant! Jun-Naira's is on my culinary list the next time I'm in Muslim town/Quiapo. I think more Filipinos (including diasporic Filipinos in some way shape or form like ourselves) need to be humble enough to admit we all DON'T know many of the foods in this immensely culturally and culinarily diverse country, and be willing to discover new foods and cultures here that they never knew existed.
