The vendor from Iran had a a delicious looking doner kabbb and the guy with the frozen treat starts pulling up on his long spoon handle WHOOOOAAAH! Long fries look good as well as the rest of the food in the video. If there's more trucks out there like the one you went to would love to see them! What regions of Japan have you not been to yet? I bet they have amazing food in those regions as well. Look forward to your 300th video! #GETSOME

Daidogei World Cup! Been there in 2016, originally planned to spend only one day at the festival and 2 days out of town, ended up spending all three days watching amazing street performers. I did of course also enjoy the food, though I found that less interesting than the yatai at just about any matsuri. And when in Shizuoka, you can't just eat street food. You really do have to get some oden, which is rather different from the oden in the rest of Japan. About soup dumplings: aren't you supposed to poke a hole in them first, slurp out the soup, then eat the dunplong? That's the way I've been doing it all the time. That kebab also looked great,, and I do need some mentaiko mayonaise in my life :-)

Looks a fun place/event, and the food!!! We have a couple food trucks in town (both taco trucks), but on Independence Day we will have several with a decent variety. Always fun to try different things (would be nice to have one serving dumplings). Question - (you've probably answered in a previous video) Did you know Japanese before moving to Japan or just picked it up by being immersed? Also, what are some things about Japanese customs/culture that took a while to get used to (or maybe you're not used to yet)? Which actually leads to another question, what are some pointers/advice for someone visiting Japan so I don't make a fool (or worse) of myself?

Oh those food trucks looked great, the crepe looked the best for me. Ive also had that turkish ice cream before in Osaka and it wasnt that good haha. My question is since im going Japan in 2 weeks time, and ill be there for new years and Christmas, what is the best way to spend those two days for you. Thanks
@PurdueAlum015 жыл бұрын
Japan for the new year is amazing. I would head to a shrine where they have big bon fires to do away with the old year and move onto the new! As for Christmas the stores will play American Christmas favorites, music in English and there are lights and decor here and there but it's not primarily a Christian country, they just like celebrating everyone's holidays! Also for new years a common gift to each other is fruit, especially oranges, often made into a fall type display or weath. Safe travels & have fun!
