“I thought it would be odd to buy a system just for one game.” Haha. Many of us gamers who grew up with PS1/2/3 WOULD do this. At least I would. I did it for PS2 for FFXII and PS3 for Tales of Graces f. Now that they’re available to play on the PC, though Steam and emulator, I don’t even have the PS2 anymore, unfortunately. I still have the PS3, though.

Oh I didn't buy the Vita because I didn't want to buy it just for Uncharted and otome. I have a list of 100+ games to play on the Switch, half of them are otome games. But the Switch has 50+ none otome games I want to play which is why I bought it. Also because of Fire Emblem and Yokai Watch 4. 3DS was a gift. PSP was a gift and I wanted it when I was 7 because my 2 cousins I always play with had it. I could only play during the weekends which is a good rule for kids. Played 40+ games on 3DS and 50+ on the PSP (not all those when I was a kid) PS3 also had 30+ games I wanted to play so yeah I only buy if it's worth it, not for 1 games or just 1 genre of game

@@naylisyazwina6836 I was a kid when the systems I mentioned were released. It wasn't until I bought the first PS2 I had, in high school, that allowed me access to BUY games I was interested. The local video store (similar to Blockbuster) gave opportunity to play many games that didn't peak my interest. Nowadays, I would buy the specific system just for the 1 or 2 games I DID enjoy. I am fully PC now, except for the Gameboy Advance SPs I have with Generation 3 Pokémon. It's not worth playing on older systems, buying them and the games, anymore with having a PC and most games very well emulated. To be fair, I did COLLECT a bunch of games (mostly digital) for PS3 when I first had it.

The Nintendo Switch is my favorite system of all time. Everything I liked about the Vita (which could have been my favorite) is better on the Switch. Everything I didn't like about the Vita (memory card price basically) isn't on the Switch. The joycons are my favorite controllers of all time (even with the drifting issues). It updates quickly, starts up quickly, and starts games quickly. Tales of Vesperia, a game I went as far as buying a PS3 to play the Japanese version and even studying the Japanese language which I still do to this day, was released on it. Another game I deeply loved and never thought would be released on anything other than PC was released on it (and the Vita first actually). I sincerely hope that in the time you've had this system, you've been able to enjoy it. It doesn't matter if it's not as much as the Vita or other Sony consoles. This is what I want the future of consoles to be like. Portable, accessible, and versatile.

Nothing like I expected it would be based on artwork, etc. Fantastic puzzles and trippy storyline. Don't let the over-the-top anime waifu artwork turn you off. This is NOT a dating game/visual novel. It's gotta be one of the most creative games I have played in some time. And yes, the puzzles are tough (I've been stuck on one for a bit)... It definitely gets a little easier as you discuss techniques with your various sheep friends. But it still can get stressful trying to apply those on the fly when you're being chased by a demon baby LOL.

I'm a bit disappointed with Sony I just don't understand why they abandoned the handheld fans. They just announced that handhelds are not in their future plans, now all we will have is Nintendo for future gaming. This does mean that all the companies will start producing third party titles for the big N's system. Nintendo is killing it with sales right now, the Switch Lite has a huge fan base willing to spend money so why Sony doesn't want part of that market is just flat weird. I am actually thinking about getting a Switch Lite sometime in the next few months but my sons will be getting their Switch tomorrow. We were blessed over Christmas by someone and the money is going towards getting them the Dock model. Heck I was just able to get my Vita this year so dad is gonna have to wait awhile before I can get my own. Honestly the Switch Lite gets my Nintendo nostalgia flowing 😍 It reminds me of the DSi systems , the matte finish style and colors really look great and the overall shape of the little guy looks perfect. I'm guessing the Lite will be in your future, the trigger buttons look so comfy and it has a D-Pad instead of buttons. The future of handheld gaming is definitely a strange one.

I couldn't agree more with your comments. I'm happy to hear your sons are getting their Switch now! I bet they're super excited and won't sleep much tonight. ;-) A Lite may well be in the future for me. For the time being I'm quite comfortable with my Switch.

Over the years, I've grew tired of buying and playing PlayStation games after their change of heart regarding Japanese developed games, specifically the fan servicey ones. My go-to platforms for these type of games (anime, JRPGs) are now on the Switch and PC. Platforms shouldn't dictate as to what that's good for the consumers, it's the rating boards' job to do it. I'm still happy watching your enthusiasm about these games and your platform of choice, and I would definitely would still watch all your videos.

Can't believe you finally got a switch!!! What do you think of the screen? I know you had reserves about the screen at one point.
@Food4Dogs5 жыл бұрын
The screen is fine but not as good as the Vita screen (both models).
@Food4Dogs5 жыл бұрын
Actually, I need to re-phrase that: I can't assess the screen at this time! I've noticed - as I add and play more games - that it seems to be the graphics quality that varies wildly with Switch games. Some look rather sub-par, making me think in the early days that it was the screen that's to blame. It'll be a while before I can really nut this one out! However: just bc the Switch has a higher pixel count (resolution) than the Vita doesn't automatically make it the better screen IMO. I doubt any handheld will ever beat the original Vita OLED screen.
@PinkDoveRS5 жыл бұрын
I finally got around to a youtube catchup. When you say you aren't used to switch yet, I have to ask does the joystick/button placement crop up as weird for you? I've found it so odd going from the classic layout Sony use with the sticks being in line with eachother, to the diagonal setup of the switch. I also found the joycons feel rather awkward to use when they're detached, maybe because I'm so used to the larger size of a PS4 controller though. On another topic, I must say I am surprised you bought Code Vein, I figured it would be completely outside your preference (and most other people I speak to) because the difficulty is a big notch up compared to the usual JRPGs most of us play, that said I saw so many others getting it too. Last thing, Utawarerumono...your pronunciation is amazing lol. I have struggled with saying it ever since I found out about the series, my friend group just call it "uta..you know" when we're talking about it because nobody knows how to say it LOL.
@Food4Dogs5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments! Switch controls: yes, my brain too is synchronised with the PS4 Dualshock hehe, and asynchronous analogue sticks just don't work well for me. I get around this problem by using a wireless controller in docked mode - it's from 8BitDo and the layout is very similar to a PS4 controller. Phew! :-) When playing handheld, it hasn't been an issue so far, as I don't often play platformers or fighting games where stick layout is crucial. Code Vein: I have one rule in life - I never rule out anything on the basis of "preference" or difficulty. Otherwise my gaming and my life would be predictable, and that would be boring. Gaming, from Day One, has been all about exploration, about challenging myself - to do something most people in my age group would never consider doing. While I do love my comfort food games, I also adore dark and challenging experiences. I may struggle (having crippled hands certainly doesn't help), and I will die far more often than most other players. But I just keep trying. Sometimes I have to flag a game away (difficult platformers spring to mind) - but I sure do give it a try first. You just never know. It's true I haven't actually played Dark Souls or Bloodborne (yet), but I did play the demo of Code Vein and liked it a lot; far more than God Eater 3 (which struck me as lacklustre). Also, I saw that Code Vein was getting a lot of flak and uninformed negativity prior to release, and that annoyed me, so I also wanted to support the effort BN put into this game. The theme, the anime aesthetic, even the complex skills management system - these are all things I appreciate. Let's hope my fingers can cope with the controls, and I'll be drawing blood aplenty. :) Utawarerumono: it just takes a little effort, that's all, to pronounce it. I have the complete anime series and watch it a lot - I could hum the theme tune which incorporates "Utawarerumono" melodiously, making it so much easier to get a hang of the pronunciation! I have been multilingually inclined from an early age (German schools encourage and demand that you study several languages), so nothing much fazes me. I am also trying to learn a few Japanese words and phrases, anyway. Tip: The main stress should be on the "ru" syllable, with a lighter stress also on the end syllable "no". If you break the word up, it's easier: Uta - ware - RU - moNo. With capitals indicating where the stress should fall. I *think* that's approximately right ... I hope. :-)
