I can thank Foodfight for my marriage. My then-girlfriend and I went to the premiere at the landmark Chinese Theater in L.A. As film buffs we were both blown away by its sheer spectacle. Afterwards we parked at a scenic vista near the Hollywood sign to look over the sea of lights down below. We could not get Foodfight out of our minds and spent the next several hours discussing all of its aspects in depth. Before we knew it, it was daybreak. As we looked out onto a new day in the entertainment capitol of the world, the most natural instinct to propose came over me. Lucky guy that I am, she accepted. We both look forward to Threshold Entertainment's next movie, Sex Toy Story.

Imagine wasting millions of dollars and everyone’s time making this piece of “art”. Then it ended up being released direct to DVD and now somewhat free here for everyone to see. What do I think of this? Honestly it’s awful but the fun kind of awful. The awful you want to share it with your friends and family while having a good time to watch it with. That animation is broken but funny broken. Voice acting is alright but the script is just cliche. I do recommend it just for riffing on it. Ok in fairness, this movie isnt lazy. Maybe the writting is, but they clearly tried to make the best of what little they had left. These r leftovers yes, but not lazyily cooked leftovers. u know? Everythings moving, the character designs arent bad, the voice actors r giving there all, and its aleast never boaring! Honestly there are ALOT worst movies! Ones that r boaring, that dont try, this atleast trys with all its might to tell a joke, (good GOD does it try, dispite not always working) and has different camera angels. i cant say “oh this is bad animation” cause yeah while as a whole it looks bad, i have to rember that the og was stolen so they used what little they had left to re-create it! I think the reason why this movie became so infamous was it's crazy production history. The film was supposed to be released in the 2000s (which explains the dated humor), but when the movie's files got "stolen" (deleted in reality, Kasanoff claimed that they were stolen as an excuse to restart production), the film was rebooted (which resulted in the mocap animation). But what sank the film was it's terrible management by the director. If it was managed properly (and if the original version's were really stolen or corrupted), we could have seen a late 2000s release. But Kasanoff's poor direction (which stems from wanting complete perfection) lead to many redos of already completed segments and blew though the budget. The reason why we even have the film is because one of the film's loans defaulted and some of the investors used that as leverage for seizing the movie to the insurance company, Fireman's Fund. There, they rushed the movie to completion using what they got and the rest is history. What resulted is a prime cautionary tale on how not to create an animated movie. If this was just a cheap direct to video movie from the start, I think it would have fallen into obscurity. I agree that the movie is overhated, but with that above context, it really makes the final product that more tragic.

Hey, I am not a lawyer, but I think I can give you a solid answer on this. TL;DR, it's complicated, but the film, it's IP (characters, story, etc) and it's music excluding cameos by food brand mascots is de facto public domain. So, you might already know this, but Foodfight is owned by an insurance company, Fireman's Fund, not Threshold. This was of course because Threshold defaulted on their loan, due to the poor management by Kasanoff. They rushed the movie to completion, got Viva Pictures to release the film, and the rest is history. Now back to Fireman's Fund; since the release of Foodfight, they were fully integrated with Allianz which was their parent company. This is really important to keep in mind, because that means that devisions and assets are moved around and sold. Like Fireman's Fund, Allianz is NOT a media company, it's an insurance company. Allianz/Fireman's Fund doesn't care about Foodfight because their job with the film is already done, which was to pay the investors by recouping the costs by releasing the film. It doesn't make sense to take legal action against someone because they uploaded the whole film to KZbin. Especially because it's very infamous and their main money maker is insurance, it makes sense to just forget about it and not enforce copyright. In addition, the trademark for Foodfight is actually abandoned at least in the States. So right now, you could make a Foodfight fan remake or a sequel and monetize it without any problems. Although you would have to remove all of the mascot cameos to avoid being sued by anyone else. So yeah, basically an insurance company owns Foodfight, and 99.9% sure they don't give a crap about enforcing their rights. Go figure

For those of you that do not know, this movie was spent 65 million dollars on and was worked on for 15 years. The reason the movie has the worst 3d animation is because a person stole hardrives that contained the film. So they had to rush and reanimate it.

This was going to come out in 2002 but due to the production error and delay defaults the film was tinkered then push back to 10 years later in 2012 the animation is atrocious I don't understand it has a 65 million dollar budget its awful
