We freeze water in plastic bottles during summer and every time someone steps out, we take a couple of them and give to the taxi driver or veg vendor or anyone who may not have access to cold potable water. The smile on their faces and the blessings on their lips is worth the effort.

Our summer tradition is to put some water in the balcony for the birds. During these hot days, they need some water too.. During our childhood my mom used to make butter milk and store it in a large pot for cooling and used to give that butter milk to the passers by during the peak summer hours.. That is the tradition I love to follow when all this pandemic is settled down 😊 Thanks for sharing this great video

The summer tradition that we usually follow at our as tradition is 3 1. Keeping water in a mud pot and and allow it naturally cool 💧is best choice of traditional summer 2. Prepping drued vadaams and pappad with rice flour , chillies , asafaodita , sabudana etc etc 😋😋 3. Especially in this month of march and april we prepare a pickle called Maavadu which is a small green mango with a salt and chilli water we soak it up in a big ceramic pickle jar as a tradition to keep it good snd safe throughout the year... 👌🏻 I love to tell you all so try the any one of the above😍😍💝

The summer tradition I would like to continue is visiting villages to be with our grandparents. We learnt a lot of things in those summer vacations with our grandparents, be it making papad, pickles with the help of extended family to spending star gazing time listening to stories on their lap. I wish it continues forever for our kids as well.

Summer memories in my childhood r so many. I used to wait whole year for juicy mangoes . My mom will keep the mangoes first to god and pray and next to the expired elders in the family on one good day. Then only we will start eating mangoes. This is our tradition . I too follow the same . I laugh and remember my childhood when I saw my kids eagerly wait to see when I will keep mangoes to god and give us. It's a life cycle, our childhood is over but we can enjoy and remember our sweet memories of our childhood by seeing our kids. Love u and thank u by this video I remembered so many childhood memories.

I truly adore and love your videos because they are simple and easy. The summer traditions of my house as a child I observed was my amma cleaning up the entire house. Painting the supdis, drying tamarind, red chillies, making different papads, pickles, drying vegetables like karela, gawaar phali, Bhavnagar I mirchis were soaked in curds , hing, coriander powder. In general the house was readied for rains by bringing out rainy wear, umbrellas. Kitchen was completely aromatic with all kinds of masalas and pickles. Also she made yummy vadu mango pickle and vadams

Summer tradition for me triggers nostalgia. My grandma used to make rice pappads (Vaththal) at the beginning of every summer. She used to take the leaves off of our coconut tree and braid them into beautiful broad platforms onto which she'd lay those pappads and let them dry in the hot sun. The amazing thing was, she used to make it for all the six families of relatives as we all used to live within a single big compound and the pappads she made for us used to last six months or more. Summers now arent the same. They haven't been ever since she passed away. I miss her. We all do.

The summer tradition followed by me which my grandmother, my mother, my masis and my family follows is pickles, we sun dry small slices of kachi keri which is used the year around for our regular lentil dals and besan kadhi. We sundry moong dal vadis, urad vadis to make delicious sabzis, we partially sundry tomatoes and then powder it to add in gravy vegetables, we make mogra sherbet in which we make a watery sugar syrup and then mogras are added to it and partially kept in the sun for 1 day then we need to remove the mogras and strain the sherbet and fill in glass bottles. Put 2/3 tablespoons of sherbet add cold water and relish it. During summers my mom used to even pluck neem leaves in the evening wash it and then grind by adding water .we all at home had to have atleast 1/4 cup of this neem juice which would keep our internal body cool, we never suffered from the heat boils or pimples. Above all who can forget the tradition of buying a new matka every year and to feel the taste of that earthy mitti while drinking that soothing water and to use the last year's matka to grow plants🥰

This video reminded us the childhood days of making mango pickle at home with grandma. We used to go Nani’s home for summer holidays and she used to prepare mango pickle at that time. I remember we used to clean the cut pieces of mango with tiny hands and wait for her to prepare the pickle, once it s done. All cousins sit around the pickle mixing bowl and our nani mixes the pickle with rice, make balls and feed us 😍😊 I really miss those days!! 😔

Hi I am from Odisha. Our summer tradition is making woodapple juice (Bela pana). In fact we celebrate this as Pana Sankranti on Odia new year. Pana making is always our tradition. This unique pana(juice) is something you won't find in any restaurant but it's popular in every Odia houe. It not only tests amazing but it also has a lot of medicinal benefits. It's a perfect summer drink. Now a days bala is considered as a super food. It can't be made with electronic equipment, only with hand it can be prepared. My grandmother, my mother and I, all the three generations are preparing this drink in every summer. Far better than the cola and other toxic drinks. I have been posting pictures of Pana Sankranti celebration since last three years on instagram. Tulishree CB Pradhan.

Love the way you showcase. As grew up in eastern part and staying at Delhi have been following my granny's method of doing pickles, sabu dada pampads, putting woolen garments in the sun before putting them in wardrobe and even putting the sarees in the sun light .

I am glad to see you focus on your garden and plants. It is truly one of the best things about summer. One of my favorite summer traditions, that was passed down to me from my grandmother's time, is to collect fresh flowers from the garden every morning. We use it to weave garlands for our hair and the deities at home as well as to create beautiful flower rangolis in brass urlis. It fills the air with the lush fragrance and refreshes the ambiance.

You are such an inspiration Jaya.. I get such sisterly vibes from you.. Hope to meet you once.. Well the traditions are many, some of them I wish to stay in my kitchen/house forever- 1. I always keep empty bottles of coke, pepsi filled with water in fridge so that I can give them to the delivery persons/postman/gardener etc. 2. Keeping shikanji (lemonade) ready, so that when any of the family members comes from outside can be served with this goodness. 3. Every afternoon we take pudina masala chaach. It gives such a energy boost to the body.

Very sweet video!! Took me back to my childhood days when Mom used to spend summer days making achar, papad, ice creams and sherbats.... Most important ritual in our home was to put Dried Khus balls in pani ka matka which kept the water cool and added a summary frangance to the drinking water.

Hi I stay in Bangalore During summer my mother would prepare lots and lots of pickle , papads. Every evening would be a mango evening, either mango or mango juice was a compulsory snack during evening. And after breakfast a game of chowka bara or algulimane was played among all the family members.

I have started a summer tradition last year during lockdown. I froze freshly squeezed water melon juice in ice trays. Covered with cling film and poked toothpicks through the cling film into each ice tray cube. When frozen I gently removed eachbwater melon ice cube along with the tooth pick. It was a huge summer hit in the house. I am making it again this summer and I think this is a tradition that will be followed for years to come in our house.

Absolutely soothing video. In my hometown, we eat Pakhala during summers which not only keeps your body cool but keeps you hydrated too. Cooked rice is dipped in water n kept for a day or 2 and then it's eaten. Many add curd, ginger, salt, chilly etc to flavour. Even though m married to a non Odia guy, I wud want my gal to embrace this flavourful meal in her life too ❤️❤️

I always admire your passion towards art , home making and everything! Love your peaceful videos ..Our summer tradition was playing indian traditional indoor games like chauka bara, aluguli mane , huli kuri aata , chuduranga ( kannada names )with chunchy tangy and sweetish raw totapuri ( name of the variant in kannada) with salt , chilli powder and sugar mixture. Also in the evenings we used to have lot of mangoes with just one small hole in the bottom and would finish the whole mango without any juice in our hands 😃
