What are you Ashley? I would guess you’re a curator. I would love a part 2 of this video where you talk about the specific differences between the styles. For example, it seems like the difference between a curator and a collection is essentially the volume of decor. Would also love to know the watch-outs for each - e.g. a collector should beware of looking too cluttered. Thank you for a great video!

I am definitely a collector with small touches of new traditional, which I think is pretty complimentary. One of my daughters in law is a free spirit. My other daughter in law is a free spirit and traditional. But her traditional is Asian, not what we think of as traditional. My niece is a naturalist. She and her husband live on a farm. Her mother, my sister, is , by far, the hardest person to figure out. Moody, even when moody wasn't cool. 😅 These people are important because they all come to me for help.

I’m a little bit of everything, except New Trad. I don’t travel enough to be a Wanderer, but I have stuff from other’s travels. One bathroom is a pirate’s grotto. The other is high end Metropolitan, in floor to ceiling Le Luxe. My guest room is Exotica Luxe in jewel tones and black and blue walls. My main living room (I have 2 units) is mid century in black n white and green with plants. I’d say eclectic, but I found the wackier a room, the more restraint is needed. Maybe I’m a mix of Wanderer/Free Spirit and Purist. Outside, I’m a Naturalist. I find those materials work best in the elements. And it’s calming not to have fake or plastic on display. I think you would probably enjoy a tour of my place. I’m still painting it out, though. Working on the front office, today. The Cottage is almost done! I still have to do the laundry room and kitchen. Thanks again for all your inspiration! 💙

I think so. I love forgotten styles like Exotica, with ceramic tiki Gods mixed with metal lanterns. It’s the biggest place I’ve ever lived in. I’m renting, too. But my landlord is cool. And if there’s a paint color he doesn’t dig, it’s only paint. That’s what spray guns are for! 🤣

Totally agree!!! I’m prominently a Curator but love aspects of Collector, Naturalist, and New Traditionalist. It’s the mix that makes our personal style uniquely individual, and I love that so much! ❤️❤️

How about an "OLD Traditionalist"? I love living in an old house with Swedish antiques, and I don't feel at home with 'modern' at all. And I'm definitely a 'medimalist', preferring a neither sterile, nor cluttered decor.
