Sri Lanka cuisine is simple and quick to make. They use powdered masala spices in their cooking. I had seen Sri Lankan Chef Peter Kuruvita's TV show which showed Sri Lanka cuisine. The crab curry which you tasted had similar preparation for a fish curry that was shown in the TV show.

Good morning dear Kripal - Wow it seems to be an authentic SL cuisine fare in Bengaluru. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country 🇱🇰 I have travelled several time to the beautiful country ; mainly on business . Hello to Mr Dixon of Salone Ceylone by Harpo 👍 Beautiful ambience with an awesome vibe 💯 Time for a kitchen tour and Ayubowan to the chefs 👋👋 Very well organised 👌 Thanks for the information on the difference between Cinnamon from SL & the Casia 👍 Preparation of the Crab Curry & loved the process of preparing the Curry base 👌 I agree the SL cuisine is a confluence of many cultural elements from India and adding their own touch 👌 Finally time to introduce the Crab in the curry 👍 There’s certainly a pleasing element to the restaurant ambience . The dishes are making its way on to your dining table . So we have the Banana Blossom Salad and as usual brilliantly articulated about the taste & texture of the BB . Moving on to the spicy Prawn Vadai ( it’s a street food ) with a sour & tangy Sambol . Good combo of the Fish cutlet incorporated with the Kochi Chilli & cradling it with a fragrant & mellow curry leaves chutney . SL folks love to eat spicy food 👌 Good that you moved on to the BBS to help providing you a slightly cooling effect after spicy hit from the CV & FC 😅 Now that you have traveled to this restaurant , the number of customer footfalls will continue to grow , exponentially, in the coming months 💯 So the kitchen has dished out the Hopper encompassing the mellow yet fragrant cashew curry , smoked aubergine & the pol sambol 👍 The prawn curry is eagerly waiting to hit your palate along with some SL Roti . That was a golden bite of the Coconut Roti with the caramelised onion paste & chilli paste . That was quite a spicy hit for you 😀 Yhe masala is more khada types as compared a masala paste . Finally the show stopper has arrived - Crab Curry . Great medium in the form of the bread toast which has its own flavour yet readily embraces the crab curry & thereby making it a delectable bite 😋 So happy that you relished the Crab 🦀 ( if one doesn’t make a mess eating a crab then they are not eating it in the correct manner 😀 ) Good review on the other condiments ; Pol Sambol ( they squeeze a dash of lime ) , Onion Sambol etc . Nothing to beat a comforting Hopper with some egg yolk & sprinkled with freshly grounded salt & pepper 👌👌 To be candid , I enjoy SL curry’s more with Egg Hopper or String hopper rather than Toast bread or coconut roti . Overall so happy for you that you relished the SL fare . Yes please - Kindly visit SL in the near future ( it’s changed a lot since you last visited them a decade ago ) Please also take boss along with you and there are plenty of veggie options for her . She could shop a lot as well 😀 Dessert time & it’s their popular Vatalappam made out of palm jaggery . Great cooling agent . You could also have tried done EGB Ginger Beer . Thoroughly enjoyed every frame of the vlog . SL beckons dear Kripal 👍👍 Just one question - Is the curry base similar in both the sea food dishes that you tried ?? Have a wonderful day ahead 👍 Stay happy , healthy & blessed 😇 Loads of love & respect 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

Hi Rajesh, glad you enjoyed this SL outing. I certainly did, brought back many delicious memories. Yes, you are correct, should find an opportunity to spend some time in the country soon. Much to reconnect to, and am sure plenty more to discover. Wrt your query, the prawn curry was milder than the crab curry, the latter certainly had a bit more of the spicy chilli hit.. Have a great weekend.

Hi Kripal, I have been away from Bengaluru for a long time and my last visit was 10 years back, I have been out of touch with the new Bangalore food lifestyles The fusion food and the new food eatouts that I have never heard of, never appeal me. I do watch your shows, but it has never brought that appetizing need to me due to old age and dietary restrictions etc., I heard from few new desis from India of a great restaurant known as Kanji/Congee in Bangalore. It would help vegetarians and older people to make a comeback to home town just to experience new bengaluru oota, Please be kind to cater 50+ age dietary needs, Gluten free, healthy options and vegetarians like me as well... Many thanks if you consider my option.

1 general question, i observed nowadays several food vloggers (you, mark veins, etc) eat by fork rather than spoon...is there any specific reason..isn't every cutlery has its role, i am not trolling but actually curious to know a answer for this?
@FoodLoversTV10 күн бұрын
I love using my hands. But wrt your query, generally, one would use a fork for solid foods that need to be pierced and held, while a spoon is best for liquids or semi-liquid foods that need to be scooped up.
