Childhood friends, Koushik, Sachin and Sanketh, grew up in Kundapur, fascinated by the teeming variety of marine produce brought in by boats to the fishing ports of South Canara. The boys found themselves pursuing engineering degrees in Bengaluru, yet dreaming of seafood. Upon completing their studies, the engineers returned to Kundapur, built a food truck, roped in a village cook, before driving back to Bengaluru to launch their ‘Mangalore in Bangalore’ sea food enterprise. I visit them on a rainy evening for an interesting chat, and return mighty impressed with the marine spread on offer, the un-compromised rustic flavour of most of the dishes that I taste, and their commitment to offering fresh seafood at honest prices. Dear Kripal sir, I have a sincere request you. Once you visit any food truck or small eateries and you do your review and post video on your tube channel, your followers including me we visit these places not just to savour their wonderful delicious food but also to support these small eateries in this challenging times. But I guess they have no idea how many hundreds of customers would visit them post your review and they fail to serve food / fail to take all orders. Even if they take order they don’t know how to manage those orders. I had visited Mangalore in Bangalore food truck today. And it was chaos out there. They were not able to handle so many customers at a time. It’s your effect. So I request you to give a heads up to these small good eateries that they should expect many customers once you review their food and should be in a position to handle all the customers coming their food trucks. And not disappoint anyone.

Hi Anoop, it’s unfortunate you weren’t able to experience the eatery in the manner one ideally should. Typically we always give a heads-up, at least a couple of days before video release, to eateries featured, whether big or small. And it is my belief that eateries do their best to be prepared for the ensuing rush that typically follows our videos. However, it can be quite overwhelming for any eatery, leave alone a small streetfood truck like this, when they see an exponential jump, sometimes even 10-folds in number of customers overnight. From the ingredients to mis-en-place, the cooking to handling the customers can be a challenge. And there is no way for them to predict the number of customers that will turn up and be prepared accordingly immediately post a food lovers tv episode. Such is the nature of this business. Having said that, things eventually settle down and the eatery is able to handle the increased business. I always advise our viewers to give it a few days before visiting and also pick weekdays over weekends if possible.

You should have tried Oyster sukka and prawn ghee roast with neer dosa or idly. Surprised a bit why you didn't try king fish or pomfret fry. Otherwise also great content Kripal. Loved it. These guys deserve all our support
