Giada was born in Rome and lived in Italy until age 7, making her first language Italian. Lidia Bastianich , who arrived in the US in 1958, does this on every episode as well. Hispanic tv reporters say Spanish words and proper names with the full accent when they speak in English, and I myself pronounce German words with the accent. Eliminating the accent causes the words to sound uncomfortably unnatural and weird to our ears.
