Do you not have any gallbladder issues? I know you’ve been on high carb for years now. But do you have any serious medical issues from this? Recently I was told to take out carbs and sugars (I don’t eat processed stuff), but now have issues medically. I’m just wondering how and why high carb works. Or maybe it just works for some people and not for others.

It was so cool seeing him on Joe Rohan talking about plant based ... as we know joe rogan argues against that form of eating .... but he couldn’t argue with Kevin Smith because he was simply providing facts as to why he was healed and now healthy period ! Gidday Hannah. I decided to try plant based for Veganuary 22 and I dropped 7 kgs in a month. I wasn’t fully vegan but I focussed on more plant based eating and I have maintained my weight loss so far. Looking forward to slowly reducing my weight for health reasons. My fave new recipe was Easy Pad Thai with tofu. I loved it so much, it has now become a new favourite. Also, I have re-adopted miso soup with noodles and baked bean loaded nachos. As I live on a strict grocery budget, these recipes are very budget friendly compared to meat based dishes. Thankyou.

i did not hear Hannah say the caloric density of tofu? so went searching. cos i enjoy tofu's versatility a lot, but stopped eating it as im trying to lose weight & i read or heard a few people i believed in, disparaging tofu cos its "very processed." i assumed that meant high on the calorie density scale and not conducive to weight loss. So due to your encouragement here Hannah, & after much googling i found it. Tofu is 500 calories per pound! That's less than legumes and pasta on that calorie density scale! WooHooo! im calling it! Tofu Tuesdays ~ back in my daily dinner rotations!

I just discovered your channel today and I have subscribed. What an eye opener and revelation to hear that carbs are not evil!! I have been a vegetarian all of my life - I don't eat any eggs, fish or meat but I do eat a little dairy. I have switched to almond milk this year and I'm doing great with that, I've just not been able to omit the cheese, although I only eat tiny amounts. I'm intrigued by the resistant starches, and being able to eat 'normal' amounts of potatoes, rice, pasta and oats and still lose weight! I have recently lost 28lbs but I still have another 39lbs to go to reach my goal. I will definately be trying some of your ideas and suggestions to help me on my way! One question - when losing the 70lbs did you calorie count? Did you do any daily exercise, what did you do and for how long? What do you do now you are in maintenance? Thank you so much.

In catch up mode. Your cheat sheet is really good Hannah. I love your approach - there really is no BS ;) - and your dishes are easy to fix. It doesn't take much effort to keep a supply of potatoes or rice ready to eat in the fridge (my instant pot is my friend) and a few other vegetables chopped up to use, or frozen. Thanks so much for your no fuss approach, I really appreciate it so much. An interesting fact about white rice: the "healthiest" prisoners of war after WWII were the English, Australian and New Zealand prisoners of war, most who built the Burma railway (the movie Bridge Over the River Kwai, very English-centric but tells part of the story). They were on a diet of white rice - I'll pass on telling all the details, it's tough stuff - and although they were very underweight, a third of a bowl of rice daily allowed them to work and they were the heathiest (relatively) prisoners of war after the war was over, with fewer lifelong illnesses among all prisoners of war. They tended to live longer lives after the war than other prisoners of war too, basically than those in Europe. It's a really interesting story. They learned to pick and eat greens that were "weeds" too. The Australians soldiers would give part of their rations to sick soldiers so they could recover. It was all about looking after each other under the direction of the doctor 'Weary' Dunlop, another great part of the story. Dunlop kept taking care of soldiers after the war too. Anyway, I really appreciate your work Hannah 👍🏻❤️

I already eat like all of these foods and not much else. The most unhealthy thing I eat is tortillas. I've also been on weight loss supplements, whole food plant based diet, phentermine (a stimulant), metformin, regular exercise. I've tried so many things. Yet I just keep gaining weight. I feel so stuck.

If you can't afford a tofu press, try putting tofu on an inverted bowl or plate. Then put another plate on top of the tofu and weight it with a few cans. Water will run out everywhere. I use a round cake pan inverted and another one on top of the tofu. I put it in my clean sink

Currently living in SE Asia and my rice cooker is always on. It’s the best weight loss food. Filling and tasty without anything on it and lower in calories than pasta and bread. Potatoes are great but they need other things to make them palatable as they are basically dry. Rice you eat with just a sprinkle of soy sauce. When we eat out I opt for rice plus the veg dish or a noodle soup. They have a rice porridge here called congee which is also low fat and tasty.

I love you Hannah and Plentiful Kiki but I am so afraid of eating carbs it scares me!!! My boyfriend is Korean so he loves noodles and rice like crazy and I cook it for him but am super nervous that I will gain weight if I eat it! I am on low carb and lost 70ish pounds. Do you think just on the weekends I can try to eat some again to see if I gain weight again?!

Out of curiosity, how much of just cooked oatmeal would you eat in a breakfast? say, 1 cup, 2 cups? because satiety will partially depend on volume no? thanks so much! 🌝

I have followed you from the beginning of your weight loss journey. Now it is my turn! I go back and forth with avocados. I am in weight loss mode and some say avoid all fats. Ok, but they are also good with helping to lower blood pressure, which is my why and main goal. In your opinion, should I limit the amount of days a week I eat avocado to get the health benefits?
