Arguably the most versatile appliance in any kitchen, a microwave is a must-have for any home, apartment, or even office break room. With the ability to heat up your food in seconds - not to mention cook certain pre-packaged meals altogether - microwaves are super fast and extremely easy to use. But just because you can stick a food item in your microwave and nuke it to high heaven, that doesn't always mean that you should. In fact, depending on the food in question, you could be in for an unpleasant surprise when your microwaved meal leads to illness. With that in mind, these are foods you should absolutely never put in the microwave.

You have just covered about 80 to 90% of what we all use the microwave for. It would seem it is just a waste of counter space.

The secret with microwave ovens is water and heat. In essence, that's all it does. So, if your food is too dry (all food loses water over time), then re-add some water. It the food is unready (i.e. frozen), defrost it the day before. If it's too concentrated, try to distribute it out as widely as possible. All these things prevent drying and scorching, the two microwave bugaboos.

Regards heating bread in a micorwave I usually use a damp paper towel over the bread. Comes out nice a soft and not dry too.

What a microwave does well? Corn on the cob! Put whole or half pieces in a zip lock bag with 2 tablespoons of water. Press as much air out of the bag as you can. Microwave on high. 2 minutes. Flip over, 1 minute. Repeat with 1 minute until it is as soft as you like it. Normally not more than 4 minutes total. Be careful of the steam and hot water when you open the bag.

Did you just say I can burn myself by microwaving tomato sauce? That's a negative like don't put your hand on a red hot burner. So stupid is as stupid does, Forrest. That's not worthy of anything. Nothing of this report is worthy of remembering. It's like they created this report just to talk talk to their viewers about nothing.

8:12 I always boil my water in a tea kettle for my thrice daily French pressed coffee or the rare occasional cup of loose leaf Earl grey tea. I don't think I ever microwaved any of the other foods in this video. Not even a potato. But I kind of want to try nuking some halved grapes (at work of course, so if it goes bad I can blame the office idiot. Lol).
