It’s so painful to see a stark contrast between zaman and Shinchan. Zaman so rightfully follows his religion in not eating pork ever! And on the other hand Shinchan having beef with pride showcasing his secularism! PS: If One who does not respect own’s identity, how can you expect to get respect from other people! Kudos to Zaman for giving us an example how to truly believe in your own’s identity! ❤️

Hey, that’s slightly unfair to call out someone for their food choices. Just like it is my choice to have or not have something, everyone has the right to choose. Rather, we should commend someone for being confident & transparent with their choice, and not being a hypocrite by saying something in public & doing just the opposite behind camera. I hope & pray you as well as anyone else, who might have had this thought on their minds, understand this point. Hope you enjoyed the video otherwise ✨

@@FoodZpah yes Zaman bhai. I agree with you that choice of food should be left out to individual people and should not be judged by anyone. But unfortunately we see that so called “liberal bengalis” always play the role of appeasing others by denigrating own’s religion but on the other hand you tactfully play the card of “it’s his or her choice” maintaining the sanctity of your religion, which i think should be everyone’s fundamental duty. This is so sad.. i see most of the Muslim people avoid going Hindu restaurants fearing non-halal foods while we liberal hindu bengalis always go to any restaurants (serving beef). Ultimately this affects the poor hindu man running the restaurant! And i always enjoy your videos! ❤️ to you. But after watching this episode it striked me to put my comments!

Everyone is cut different, and should be respected for the same, unless they go out of their way to hamper someone else’s peace of mind. I consider myself also to be a “liberal bengali”, which I think means or atleast should mean that I mind my own business & hope others do the same. My food choices should be mine & not be dictated by other’s believes & comforts. As a person holding a position of power/influence, I maybe compelled to sometimes consider the emotions of my viewers at large, but that is solely from my own personal consideration. It shouldn’t be imposed, neither on me or anyone else. I’m sorry that I’m replying to these messages with such long texts, but be sure this is a message for all, not to any one in particular. Let me also take this opportunity to thank you, so both being a keen viewer of this video/channel, as well as allowing me an opportunity to share my views on this topic. ❤️

What a coincidence, went to Olys just yesterday !!! The new decor is inviting and the ground floor actually looks more spacious. The fish Reshmi Kabab was good and the pork cocktail sausages were outstanding . However I was a little disappointed with the most commonly ordered dish in any restaurant in Kolkata -- the chilly chicken boneless (dry) ....if a restaurant cannot make this dish well, it should not keep it in its menu. The cost of drinks have gone up but is still within the affordable range considering the fact that you are wining and dining in Park Street . If one is wanting to visit a pub style restaurant with fairly decent food to go with , then Olypub , with its history, nostalgia and iconic status, still remains the number one choice of Kolkata ! 👍

The Olypub menu doesn’t have it. You should go to some other restaurant, preferably abroad - Europe, USA or Aus/NZ for really good steaks and chops

Hey, about the knife, it was not sharp nor sturdy enough, which is why the struggle. The steak was fine & seasoned decently well. Given the price, which is about 1/10th what a decent steakhouse would normally charge abroad, this was a mighty fine deal IMO. Cheers.!

Food has no religion… who cares man. People will eat whatever they want. Hindus can eat beef and Muslims can eat pork. In China and Indonesia lots of Muslims eat pork. So what. Even in India, it should be the same.

The burger looks quite dry.....never tried it....for novices, olypub steak is good experience, but there are better steak available in Kolkata namely Chillies though quite expensive than olypub, the dish that literally stands out and is a value for money is the Chicken a la Kiev...also the cocktail sausages, its based on the Goan chorizo...goes well with beer and drinks...
