It's tough because sometimes they get hung with that mantle of saving rock, etc. There's plenty of great rock if you look. I've always like bands like Band of Horses. Or of course the Raconteurs or anything Jack White does. Kings of Leon. There's lots. Quirky but good stuff like Matt and Kim or Vampire Weekend. I still love Modest Mouse. I know though what you're saying. Foos are legendary and some of those bands I mentioned aren't straight ahead kick ass rock. Raconteurs are. FF will always be one of my all time favorites though. Brilliant at times but always steady and straight ahead

Hey all. I just wanted to put this out there so bear with me. My family is Catholic, and I was confirmed two weeks ago. My confirmation name was Cecilia, after st. Cecilia. Exactly a week later my confirmation sponsor passed away unexpectedly, and I was devastated. She meant the world to me, and has been a role model my entire life. She knew I liked the foo fighters a lot. Two days after she passed, Foo unexpectedly released this EP, named St.Cecilia. I don't believe in coincidences, and I think this is so cool that they named it that. It gave me a sense of peace to know she was speaking to me through the music she knows I love. Sorry if I offend anyone with "religion talk", but that isn't the point. I just thought it was a miracle I thought I would share with everyone

One of my favorite bands of all time. I have often heard them be criticized for not changing their sound much since their formation. I say, thank God, because they found a sound and they made it sing. Rock 'n' roll is not dead yet. These guys keep waking it up.
@brianbradshaw75409 жыл бұрын
See, they don't need to change their sound because they transcend many different sounds; from rock to punk; to blues and a few times have had a bit of jazz, lounge funk in their songs (mainly their first two albums). To change their sound they would have to completely overhaul and that is just not in the question lol. Without a shadow of a doubt the greatest rock band going today.
@davidglasspool49219 жыл бұрын
+Brian Bradshaw I definitely agree. I've heard people say that they have not involved as a band and have not changed their sound but honestly I completely disagree with that. I think they are a fantastic and versatile rock band. Definitely one of the best in the business I meant evolved not involved. Freaking speak to text. Ha ha

+David Glasspool They have changed there sound..... can people not tell the difference between Colour and the Shape and Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace?
@shawncrawford65929 жыл бұрын
+Super Sanchez ive listened to them since i was 5 im 19 now and yeah theres differences in there song but i was raised on this and be who you are im a huge fan of foo fighters and i love all kinds of rock they inspired to start playing music when i was 8 i can now play guitar bass and drums it makes me sad how i was bullied and got beat up for being myself but i kept going bt yeah theres differences in all there stuff in subtle but its there.
@msminmichigan7 жыл бұрын
The music has changed a lot. Their first two albums are very different than their third. They went more into acoustic stuff with In Your Jonor. Echoes silence patience & Grace sort of combined the acoustic stuff and the harder stuff. Then they went Raw sort of back to the original sound with there next couple albums. Now Concrete and Cold is like their Animal Sounds or Sergeant Pepper's it's this big massively produced wall of sound kind of thing. I don't know why you would not want to band to change. When Dave started the Foo Fighters he was in his twenties now he's in his late 40s or 50s he's not the same person he was 20 years ago.
