Absolutely mouthwatering. Maybe a silly question, but could you get the same result with a volt? I haven't seen any content of the volt other than baking pizza and I was wondering if it could be just as versitile as the wood- and gasfired ovens.

You can definitely cook more than pizza in the Volt! However, we don't recommend cooking fatty foods such as steaks in Volt as it can cause the oven to create smoke, and there is a risk of a grease fire. Here's a handy article with more cooking options for Volt! support.ooni.com/en_us/what-can-i-cook-in-ooni-volt-12-ryEXMKqz2

What cut is the steak? Looks great.

Hey Jon, it is delicious! We used a large côte de boeuf but you can also use a ribeye steak. You can find the full list of ingredients in our video description! 😊

This works on the Karu 12 with charcoal/oak wood, but you have to get the cast-iron skillet *really* hot, up to 400 degrees C, to get that sizzle (IR thermometer helps here), and also time adding the oak pieces to get just the *right amount* of rolling flame when you insert the steak (you have to be careful about flare-ups). I was surprised how much heat is lost/absorbed from the skillet when you put food on it! I put the cherry tomatoes at the same time as the meat, and that didn't work out too well, I lost that precious heat.

Thanks for your feedback, Colin! We hope you still enjoyed your steak🔥.

@@Oonihq It was good because, any meat cooked over direct flame is better, and any food cooked and eaten outdoors tastes better.🙂

What temp did you cook the steak at?
@OonihqАй бұрын
In the video, Jordon mentions that the exact temp isn't super important! You just want to make sure it's hot and that you're keeping an eye on it. You can review this part of the video at 3:45. 😉
