YES! Emil would have had a go! And if you think about it - everything ended up better than before - I have the switches covered properly, I learned a lot about electricity, I have a new friend - Denis - and I found a much better place for the birthday calendar! All really is WELL! so isn't that the key to all of this ? it's about attitude. Maybe what I learned from Emil was to look on the bright side! Love that boy! xxxxx

That worked like a charm - I had very little phone battery, but one text to my son, one phone call to his contact and within the hour I was back on track. I'll take care in future - leave the wires and pipes to them that know! ha ha!!!

Whatever possessed you to rush in and start messing with electricity without even taking off your coat? Next time you have that feeling....STOP..and THINK a minute. I know - I got away with it ... I am so impulsive - I was feeling defiant ... I can do anything I set my mind to! well, I sort of did, because the thing was resolved within the hour because of my son and his contact. What a nice guy. I was bracing myself for a telling off - but he was lovely! And yes - I like seeing my Patrons at the end of the videos - .... it makes me feel very valued - I am able to plan for more exciting things for 2019 with a little buffer of income. It's rather marvellous! xxxx Thank you!

I have a guy called Norm that can fix any of my mistakes. You've got to know one extraordinarily handy and generous person in life, and then make them your closest life long friend. Lol OH!... Your beautiful porcelain stars arrived in Colorado all gloriously safe and sound and well before Christmas! They are just as wonderful as i knew they would be! Love the card, Anna (my daughter) had the truffles devoured in record time, she was just thrilled with the whole package. Anna threaded the small stars onto the strings of the larger ones and hung them on the tree immediately. You brought us much joy this December with the book, calendar and stars.

excellent news! and yes - I do need a Norm for those small jobs - but I have John - my son - who is a practical lad and if he can't help he always knows someone who can - like Denis - my knight in shining armour! He said - 'how will i know which is your house?' I replied .... 'the one with all the candles flickering at the windows!' it took me ten minutes to blow them all out after he left! ha ha!!!

Yes - I thought of that - but i found a much nicer place to hang the thing - I'll show it next time I make a video ... if I remember - So now, instead of two tatty switches I have two gleaming white plastic things - which seem to reproach me every time I look at them - something will have to be done! ha ha!!!

I so relate to your sense of timing. I have projects on my mind for weeks brewing and steeping like a pot of earl grey tea. Then, all of a sudden, it's time to do it! I get on with it then. Isn't it peculiar how that happens? In this case, I am grateful that all worked out and no one was hurt. What a blessing to have such a helpful neighbor.

I've done things like this. Sometimes we want to feel like we can. My ex was an electrician and he blew it many times. And I mean blew some wall sockets along with throwing some breakers. I called another electrician when he left for work. Now divorced that house still stands but, it's fixed. Take care of yourself friend. There isn't another like you.

Oh my goodness Kate. Be very very glad you didn't get a shock after molesting the socket. 😜 You were so certain it was not live. 😂😂 And that test thingy has a name. 😂😂 I'm also a woman alone so I made sure I knew things from around my home. That thingy is called a voltage tester. Very important because if it's too high it can cause fire and you don't want that. It also tests a few other things for safety. So glad this nice man was in great spirit to help you out. Never ever do this again.😉 We want you to be around for a long time and enjoy you and your animals in your videos. If you even have doubts about anything that looks electric related please give Dennis a call. 😉😊 With love ❤xxx

Sandra - I feel very certain that I will have Denis on speed dial in future so you need not worry about me dying that way! I am so grateful to people who know their work inside out - test Thingy - Voltage tester ... sounds like a handy thing to have. But I will leave it to the experts from now on. It doesn't mean i won't have a go .... but not with electrics to plumbing - I do need to clear out the gutters though......... I can manage that i think! xxxxx So, Hercules need the builders in again! there will have to be one more hole in that building sometime - because everything comes in threes!!!!! ha ha!!!

What will happen next since those kind of things always come in 3s. We are human and learn from missteps... grateful for the kindness of people who rush to help. Love the lovely birthday card... and looking forward to hearing about the rest. My two kitties, Sedgwick and Pennylane passed a few years ago and due to traveling more I didn’t think it fair to adopt another but a year ago a neighbors kitty calls on me to visit. She is well loved and care for but has the most ridiculous name.. “Your Cat” so I’m certain she came to me for a proper name so I have named her Dear Prudence. I too have thing for the Beatles and... color... my lovely daughter gifted me a book by Kassia St. Clair entitled The Secret Lives of Color for Christmas. The dedication had a wonderful quote “The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which live color the most.” - John Ruskin... Many many many blessings ✨💫

Oh Kate, Kate, Kate...There are just some things better left to the professionals. Years ago I changed out all the switch plates and switches in my house to "modernize" it a bit. Everything was fine till the very last switch. Some time between the second last and last switch, I'd turned the power back on to cook something and didn't turn it off again. So when I went back to finish my job.... "ZZZZAP". Knocked me for a loop!!! I now have the phone number of a very reliable electrician!! LOLOL Oh, I received my package yesterday and am thrilled. Love the "Hello, KZbin Friend" on the address. So sweet even the mailperson commented on it. So I had to tell her the whole story of subscribing to your channel. You should have a new subscriber by this weekend!! Take care and stay out of trouble, will you!! We need you!! Happy New Year!

I'm sorry I just think every time I hear someone asking to be supported by their viewers that it's like asking for the dole in your part of the world and welfare in mine. Hi Angela, I think yours is a pretty rude comment, maybe just a question you have, but sometimes we have to choose wether we ask a question or not. You don’t know what people go through in life, Kate doesn’t seem to be a person that doesn’t like to work, her videos are a proof of that, and she put her effort and creativity for us to enjoy, you included, since you are watching and commenting on here. I am going through special times in my life ( that meaning I can’t soend too much money right now) but as soon as this passes, I will gladly support Kate , economically talking, her videos make my life better and make me happy when I am down. The content on the public page will not change because of Patreon and it is a free choice for us all, if anything, my content will get better as I will have the tools to help me improve and streamline what I do. You’ve no idea the lengths I go to filming these little videos sometimes! I think it is a blessing to have such a happy and creative channel, WITHOUT ADS to stop and breath some fresh air among all the craziness that we have on the internet. You are very talented and again, there is nothing wrong about being a patron of places like this. We need to stop judging people and start being more grateful for the beautiful things ( videos here) people have to offer.
