The main difference is that this model from ANTA has been around for a while. But, it fits Kyrie’s play style the best out of the current models that ANTA has out right now. The actual model that Kyrie is using is the Pro version of this one until they make his actual first signature model and the leaks of that one look VERY different than the Shockwave. More like a Curry shoe.

Kyrie doesn’t need a double shank. Thats not his style. If someone is shifty, two shanks will hinder the flex he needs in the cross. As someone who is shifty, it will feel more firm. Hes a phenomenal hooper, so he makes it works. But if you watch some of Kyrie’s current practices, he still wears his older more flexible Kyrie’s. And it’s understandable. If he signed with puma, he’d have the perfect shoe for him. It’d be like the Original Clyde. All-Pro.

The review was spot.... on. I've been a big Kyrie line fan for quite some time. What I really appreciated about the line was that the floor to foot relationship was fantastic. You literally are hugging the floor with Kyries, and in my opinion you did not sacrifice padding/protection on aggressive landing. That's coming from someone with heel issues. But truth be told I always wondered what a Ky shoe with a little more bounce would feel like... these...are...it. Traction =👍🏾 Speed =👍🏾Ability to move through traffic during euros, complex crossovers and off balance finishes at the basket=👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾. Love the review. Kyries with a little better bounce and I cant forget better materials for sure. No disrespect to the swoosh.. just calling it like I feel it.

got them and combined with game day pro insole. i can say the best shoe i ever wore. not only while playing, after the game no knee pain, no back pain and my feet are relaxed without compromising the security

I've been suffering from shin splints and your reviews and suggestions have made them start to subside. Thank you very much. But at 8:35 you suggested using orthotics for the shockwave 5, would you recommend using Move Game Day Pros for this (in addition to the double carbon fiber shank)?

Really want to give these a shot but no where near me to try on a pair. I rocked Kyrie Nike line from start to finish and always had to size up a 1/2 size compared to everything else on Nike and that’s with a narrow to medium foot. Great review. Love this channel.

Hey Doc. I would love to see an updated version of „best ankle braces“. I think there are a lot of different models on courts (for example if you watch the fiba worldcup (Franz Wagner, Niels Giffey,…)). I just dont know which ones are good as a sprainer with injury history. Its very expensive to try out different models and also a lottle bit risky. Thanks a lot. In Doc we trust ❤😅

I used to own kyrie 3, and just copped this a couple weeks ago. I can confirm this shoe is so much better overall wise. However, i do miss the fluid feeling older kyries have from the outsole curvature.

I still rock the Kyrie 3's for this very reason. The curved sole feels so good during certain movements. Only downside of the shoe is the lack of impact protection. It's very much a court feel shoes. I remember trying on the Kyrie 6's and not liking how flat and clunky my step felt. Felt like two movements intead of one smooth transition like the 3's. Kyrie 3, with a bit more cushion would be amazing.

im 6'5, 240, I currently wear the k swiss ultra shot 3 when playing tennis but consistently create holes or tears in the uppers, forefront of the shoe. Would these be a good replacement to those shoes. Looking for something good on my body as constant play on hard courts place a lot of strain.

Kyrie Nike line aesthetically looked funky stylish but the issue has always been lack of cushioning, stiff materials at the start and the extreme narrow cut. The kyrie Infinity is the best plush feeling out the line but for 2E... had to go up 1 full size for comfort. Anta model has the tech bounce cushioning that would be perfect in kyrie 2 etc...Anta look not bad... but only the triple blk caught my attention but it's super expensive currently over the other colorways

Kyrie has been wearing the pro version of the Shock Wave 5. Has different upper materials and the bottom shank is carbon fiber I believe. Slightly different midsole construction as well.

Nike made the kyrie to be a mass sales model for the 12-20 demographic. Lots of mobility and Court feel w minimal cushion. The perfect shoe for a 16 year old guard who weighed under 160lbs and run like crazy. He’s older now needs more cushion but that outsole will give him problems on pristine nba courts. Too much stopping power unless they give him a softer translucent rubber for his personal use

Anta Shockwave 5 or Pro version is way better than Nike Kyrie’s, cause most of his Nike signature shoes feels like bricks, and some of them don’t even have any midfoot shank plate or any carbon fiber plate which will cause foot pain in long term

Agreed! I have SW5 Pro. It's lighter than Nike Kyries & the Anta outsole is way more durable! Fit was narrow & tad long but TTS. Got it in Shanghai for US$130 retail when was there for a visit
