I was diagnosed with cauda equina syndrome last Sept and my left foot has foot drop. Can PRP help with my left foot? I ended up with full cauda equina and have made incredible recovery so far. Wondering if this could help with my left foot.

Nerve hydrodissection with PRP can treat many causes of foot drop, would need to see what caused the cauda equina syndrome and if any of the severe compression has been resolved. Consider a telehealth consultation : irehabmed.com/treatments/regenerative-nerve-neuropathy-treatment/

Does it help if we only inject PRP into the common fibular nerve at the leg? And what is the time interval in between each injection? 6 weekly?
@sebastianklisiewiczintegra98056 ай бұрын
PRP injections around the fibular nerve is a good start as a treatments for foot drop. I treat foot drop in my Estero clinic (Southwest FL, Fort Myers, Naples, Bonnita) using a comprehensive approach of nerve hydrodissection with PRP plus other therapies that support nerve healing. integrativerehabmedicine.com/fort-myers-naples-cape-coral-fl-neuropathy-treatment

PRP is a good treatment for foot drop from a fibular neuropathy. I would need to do an EMG and scan the leg and fibular nerve with the ultrasound to determine of this can help you. Check out the link to a published case from Dr. Sanchez on healing the fibular nerve after a severe knee injury. @sebastianklisiewiczintegra98052 ай бұрын
Nerve hydrodissection with PRP can sometimes be an effective treatment for foot drop and neuropathy from Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS or AIDP). It will take multiple treatments to repair these nerves, but it is possible. Does this work for occipital neuralgia ? and how many treatments roughly is needed for someone who has occipital neuralgia for this? I tend to see this works for many issues but not occipital neuralgia as the neck is a complex area where lots of muscles and tight muscle fascia are squeezing on nerves. How can a solution being injected around the nerve create indefinite space between the tight muscle fascia and the nerve?
@sebastianklisiewiczintegra98056 ай бұрын
Nerve hydrodissection with PRP or dextrose is a great treatment for foot drop or any other nerve injury or nerve compression. It can be used for occipital neuralgia at the occiput or at C2 (as a treatment for headache). But for best results, the upper cervical facets, ligaments and muscles need to be treated to provide longterm relief from neck and head pain. The hydrodissection solution frees up the nerve so it can move and start functioning more normal, it also decreases nerve inflammation and releases any adhesions around the nerve. It does not create an "indefinite space" around the nerve. I'm willing to try this, is this treatment available in Tx? I believe I developed foot drop as a result of having three large impingements in my lumbar spine which I waiting too late to get anything done and loss control of my foot/ ankle. I have since had a 360 spinal fusion which now my foot drop seems more pronounced. I feel better as far as my spine no longer being compressed but now the struggle of foot drop has caused me to fall more then I would normally. It's frustrating to deal with this. I miss being able to wear flip flops, walk around ponds and lakes on a slight incline or walk without everyone asking if I'm okay. Is this treatment something that I can get done in the Dallas, tx area? Or is this experimental and only offered at your location?
@sebastianklisiewiczintegra98056 ай бұрын
Nerve hydrodissection is a good treatment for foot drop from nerve injury in the leg, hip and the spine. Not everyone is a candidate, significant nerve damage in the lumbar spine can sometimes be too severe for this treatment to be effective. There aren't many doctors doing this treatment, it is not covered by insurance (all out of pocket cost). We offer foot drop treatment in our Estero clinic (Southwest Florida) but we have patients come from all over. Consider a video consultation to discuss: integrativerehabmedicine.com/fort-myers-naples-cape-coral-fl-neuropathy-treatment

Howany session of treatment? In the video it is three And is it temp or permenant fix And this is without physiotherapy?
@sebastianklisiewiczintegra98056 ай бұрын
Nerve injury treatment with PRP injections and nerve hydrodissections are meant to help the body heal the nerve injury and return normal function (this is tru for foot drop, wrist drop and other nerve injuries). Once the nerve heals, the improvement remains (permanent). This patient required 3 sessions of PRP nerve hydrodissections, some patients only need 2 nerve treatments while others may need more than 3 nerve treatments. I have foot drop after a TKR, it's been 8 months and doctors tell me it is because of this nerve. I have a lot of scar tissue on the side of my knee from surgery, they say the nerve may be covered by the scar tissue. Can this treatment work if the nerve is covered by scar tissue or do I need another surgery?
@sebastianklisiewiczintegra98056 ай бұрын
Nerve hyrodissection of the fibular nerve with PRP is probably your the best non-surgical treatment option for foot drop after TKR (total knee replacement). The hydrodissection can break up the scar tissue and release the fibular nerve. The PRP will provide growth factors that will stimulate nerve regeneration. Best to schedule a video consultation to discuss in more detail: integrativerehabmedicine.com/fort-myers-naples-cape-coral-fl-neuropathy-treatment
