Jesus did say there would be earthquakes in diverse places (Matthew 24:7, KJV). So far, the biggest earthquake known to have struck the east coast was in Charleston, S.C., August 31, 1886. It was estimated at Magnitude 7.3 (there being no Richter Scale back then), which is pretty big. If something like that hit an east coast city today, the death toll would run at least six figures, because we are just not expecting it, nor are we ready for it.

I remember this! I got out of my chair to ask my mother a question, then all of a sudden, I heard a jet like roar outside. I looked out the back window and saw a line( the shockwave) zoom at the house, then, the house began to shake. To me, the quake lasted only about 3 seconds. Then I stood still for a legit minute, pale white, and my mom just sitting dazed and confused. I’ll Never forget that!!!

What did the shockwave look like?
@trae7012 жыл бұрын
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 it simply looked like a line in the ground coming right at you. That’s really the best way I can put it; I barely registered it because of how fast it happened.

Today is the 7th anniversary of the quake. And the Gates of - ' And that was the exact moment the quake hit. Of course, the next word would have been 'Hell.'" Your video was very reminiscent of what I had experienced; thanks for posting it!

I remember every moment of that day (I was in it) It was my first week of kindergarten, I was in library. All the sudden everything started to shake. Picture frames falling, books, the floor shaking. I didn't know what a Earthquake was at the time. I believe everyone got out safely. Since it was unsafe to enter, they had to knock it down with a wrecking ball. It took 3 years to build a new school, but after they finished building it, my parents got a divorce and I moved back to my birthplace, Pennsylvania

No one asked. You guys get a 2.6 frequently. That’s nothing. A 5.8 is way worse. And it’s on the east coast so it makes it even more worse. We never get earthquakes. A 2.8 would roll a pencil off a desk. That’s literally it.

Earthquakes are commonplace in my hometown of Santa Cruz, California. I'd be watching tv and thered be a crack of the house foundation and things swinging. I'd just think, "oh, an earthquake" and immediately forget about it. One where I snatched up my two toddler nephews and waited in a doorway for it to stop. But one day, people were killed in one only 2 miles from where I was that day. I was in Seattle and felt one..I looked around and nobody noticed. I felt the Japanese quake in Idaho!

It was my 2nd eq. I was at work on 8/23. We are about 20 minutes from DC. I was on the third floor of my building and it almost seemed like two separate earthquakes, like a weak one and a stronger one. The mouse in my ceiling ran after the weak eq. I thought we had a small explosion in a lab. The first earthquake I felt was at 5 a.m. in July 2010, also in MD which sounded like a dump truck driving by.
