It's not even the Nile. Hahah. And the Nile had the name of chaos. That man made fake lake is idiocracy. Lol. I wonder if they hoped that when the dam broke they thought when looking on a map that looking down on a map is Lake rain falling down on the Earth and everything goes from the top to the bottom on a map and maybe they thought by releasing that water it would make its way to Lansing. But they never looked at the elevation map. However I still have concern about the chemical plant du pont and what they were producing in manufacturing and that could have passably now gotten into the water tables of the whole state perhaps that is the heart of the state of all the underland water ways.

@@jameschristopherstarnessta6003 I am sure the towns around that lake were fighting to prevent the state from forcing the company to open the gates and draw the lake down to a safe level. Left the towns docks dry for two years until repairs were made.

ALL water projects in the US are controlled by the federal gov't, not the state. The state only follows regs set by the fed. There is nothing wrong with the damn, the levees failed. The Army Corp of Engineers will rebuild the levees., close the damn and the lake (reservoir) will fill up again. I found this out when I became a Riparian (a waterfront property owner) 25 yrs. ago when I bought a house on Pontiac Lake.

Lee Hugh one little problem with that, the whole bottomland area belongs to the “four lakes task force” aka Midland and Gladwin counties. The Midland county sheriffs department put out a notice the other day that they were going to start arresting people they catch walking or riding atv’s on the bottom lands. Funny how it was legal to walk on it when it was under water but now that it’s dry it’s suddenly illegal.
