True manliness is tender and loving; false manliness, cold and hard, cynical and contemptuous. The bravest and most heroic souls are usually the most loving. Garibaldi, Kossuth, Mazzini, the heroes of our times; Luther, who never feared the face of man; Gustavus -Adolphus and William of Orange, are examples of this union of courage and tenderness. Bold as lions in the defense of the right, such men in their homes and their private life have a womanly gentleness. False manliness is unfeeling, with no kindly sympathies, rude and rough and overbearing. True manliness is temperate; it is moderate, it exercises self-control, it is capable of self-denial and renunciation. False manliness is self-willed and self-indulgent

85 scholarships for 1 team, now think about how many of those could be used for other athletes so they could relax some more and think about their education instead of having to scramble lfor money to pay their fees.

Or perhaps education should be free so that everyone has a fair chance in life, not just the ones that can afford it. It will only make your country stronger with a more educated population.

I am confused why a guy who is competing for the starting tackle position needs to have a teammate give him his scholarship? I get the whole practice squad thing and the guys like Rudy but why was a guy who was good enough to start on the offensive line or at the very least be a regular player need to go through this to begin with?

This isn't really a feel good story. It's an indictment of America's greed. People should be able to go to college without being saddled with an inescapable debt at 22. It's a trap to keep you in bad jobs that underpay you.
