Messi should win it for all his achievments on the pitch: having an insane WC (the most prestigious tournament in football by far) and winning it, being key to win the Ligue 1, huge g+a stats (by the way i do hate stats), plus appearing in dire situation with psg and argentina, and the most important one, playing the greatest football on the pitch (if you see the matches you'll understand what i mean, its a beauty). Am a huge Messi fan, as much as I want him to win an 8th I would have no problems if Haaland won it. But like someone already stated, Haaland's no show in the UCL semis both legs and the FA final really, really diminished his chances. Someone on the "panel" will argue against him on his no show when it mattered the most. Imagine this. If Messi missed that WC final penalty. If Messi didn't win the WC. @@Adj8llk I definitely think Jude will get it before Haaland and a lot of other people are saying this what's working against Haaland is his performance in big matches he goes missing and is useless and remember the criteria has changed so it's now based on individual performance and his poor performance for Norway on a national level he can only score against small teams while Jude turns up for big matches and is performing well at a national level that's the difference in my opinion Jude is better than Haaland and because he is turning up on a club and national level I think Jude will get it before him it's no shade Haaland is too co dependent on other players to score and hasn't really demonstrated any leadership qualities which Jude has

Guys it’s not even a question… Messi by far. Haaland scored 36 premier league goals while playing for City, best club in the world. Kane scored 30 while playing for Tottenham that finished 8th. Haaland was absent from all big matches. He scored against farmer clubs while having insane teammates. Messi carries, If you swap Haaland with Kane, Lewa, Ronaldo they’d have scored more 😂

I watched a comparision with stats. Messi has the most impact on his team with best average performances, same goal contribution, same amount of cups won, great performances in finals and semi finals, MVP of World Cup 3 times amount of big chances created... People who argue Haaland cant play WC etc. should remember, that Man City on the other hand are the best team in the world right now while PSG undoubtly wasnt that great this season and football is still a team sport. Messi also fighted a long time for this WC and it isnt like he got it served on a plate.

The fact that we are even discussing this. Messi captained his country to 3 international trophies not domestic or continental club trophies. And he literally beat the defending champions (France) in the WC, Euro champions - Italy in the Finellsima, Brazil (Copa America) and he won the Golden Ball for the best player in each of them. He has goals and assists in these finals. Haaland has 52 tap ins in club football ffs and he flopped in the semifinal and final of the UCL!!! Ridiculous.
