What a lion heart he was for us. Gone, but never forgotten: RIP Hutch.

Absolutely - my dad thought he walked on water and such a nice, unassuming bloke here.

Hutch was so fearless on the field, and seems such a nice bloke here. So so unfair that he died at 54.

Took too many painkillers over many years to get through games and it ruined his stomach.

Great throw-inns by Ian Hutchinson… no wonder Stoke signed Peter Shilton shortly after that.

A potentially great career ruined by injuries, and a life cut short. He had a big heart

Imagine Ian Hutchinson and Rory Delap playing in this match. Waiting for John Dempsey comment.

Hutchinson was a tough lad. He bullied Bremner mercilessly in the 1970 Cup Final and Bremner didn't like it one little bit!

Rory Delap (ironically a Stoke City player)'s loong throws are not as good as Hutchinson's. Ian was marvellous on that.

No, they are better. The lower height and speed on the ball, make it 10x harder to deal with. Hutch was a great player and a wonderful man, but don't let sentimen overshadow things. Ask any pro player of prem manager at the time who played against stoke and dalap. Only my view but again ask those who played against it. The Arsenal manger wanted it banned and even went to the FA. over it.

Huddy took great delight celebrating the 1st goal, Dempsey looks very much like Max Wall @ 3.29 and WTF was the keeper doing for Hutch's equaliser?

Sean Haslegrave is my tutor at Newman College. Always brags about this goal. Terrible marking hahah

Noticed Hudson celebrated that first goal big time IMO he’s a traitor. Hutch completely the opposite great guy may he Rest In Peace.

Mickey Droy wouldn't be able to score a header like that today because a five foot six player would ignore the ball and get him in a bear hug. If Droy pushed him off the ref would give a foul against him.

Why did Hudson go to Stoke????

Master stroke singing by Tony Waddington. Had the privilege of watching Hudson for a couple of years, when he was one of the best midfielders in the world . . .

Alan Hudson, magic player for Stoke. He could totally control a game. Chatted to him last season in The Glebe, prior to a game. There were great players in every team in those days.

A Chelsea player takes a long throw - it's an art. Stoke player - it's cheating!

Post match analysis seems to have forgotten that there were two teams on the pitch. Great game though. What a team City had in the early seventies, a joy to watch.

Looking back Stamford Bridge really was a dog hole of ground - in the away game at Cov I counted about 12 Chelsea fans in the away end - they musthave come in a mini bus.

From my experience cov fans have a habit of talking utter waffles. Odd people.
