Jurgen was done in 2022-23 but I think he stayed around for one more season to make sure that there was a solid foundation for the next manager to build on. Arne saw that quality and refined a few things (most notably that we're more disciplined overall rn in play), but kept the core playing style of the club from the last decade intact, which helped with the transition, instead of coming and forcing a new style onto the squad. It's just been a great start so far. Too early to tell standings wise and competition results wise, but it's clear that Slot has a vision for this club that he can easily implement thanks to the material and playing style Jurgen left behind, plus also some of his own kinks. I think he's set to do great things if we can perfect this formula.

Arne's style has made the players play with less intensity than Klopp's style as well. So we have been luckier with injuries compared to the heavymetal football days. Slot ball is much slower and methodical but mixed with Jurgen's counter attack and counter press is deadly. Arne built on something that is already perfect and gave a new flavour.

That 1 disappointing season they were hit with a massive injury crisis and by the end of the season actually had a fantastic run once the squad became fit and sharp again. ETH was "better than Arne in Holland", or that was the narrative anyway, so getting someone with a 'lesser' record than ETH didn't fill me with confidence, but Jurgen convinced me to back him on that last day with his speech. I was thinking 5th and a good cup run for his first season, and seeing as only 11 games have gone, that could still be the case, but unlikely now. no we are not lying, lot of Dutch and specially Feyenoorders watch these video’s and we know how special Slot is and we can all asure you that you haven’t seen nothing yet. The Klopp havy metal or better said kick and rush 2.0 is slowly turning into Slotball and thats total football 4.0 and it will get a lot lot better and exciting when the theoretically much better Liverpool players start playing proper Slotball and that means that playing from the back will get a lot better and backs and midfield will start scoring more. Liverpool is not playing Slotball half as good yet as Feyenoord did and so there is a lot lot more to come with these better players.
@yerrie190811 күн бұрын
Slot is the complete trainer, besides the tactical and media skills he is simply honest and says what everyone sees and it’s mostly common sense when in this football world most want to prove that they know better. Slot and he said it again on Liverpool TV that working hard, mentality, good home situation and all that stuff is more important than his tactics bord. And also there he did amazing work with Feyenoord with players and getting the best out of them when good players out of form but also players people wrote off ass not good enough. We (The Dutch and certainly every Feyenoord fan ) see the same happening. With Slot there is always a bare minimum of how good a match is plaid and when things are not good you might not win 2nd half but it will be a better one, it’s always a lot of just logic and never these crazy subs and moves nobody understand besides the trainer. I think there is a 98% chance that his trainer career fairytale continues in the same stile as it did until now and that means a lot more to come for Liverpool

It may be out of fashion to criticise FSG at the moment, but there are glaring problems in the squad. First, the 3 contracts. It is PISS poor all 3 have been allowed into their final years with no deals. Second, cover for our two main defenders. Whilst Quansah and Gomez, the latter a bit long in the tooth, are promising, they both have the air of Calamity Jane about them, and are NOT the long term solution imho, so we MUST get in at least one world class CB, if not two, seeing as VVD, as sad as it is, only has two or three seasons left realistically. This past transfer window was INCREDIBLY poor, and if we, and more importantly FSG are SERIOUS about putting us on top of the tree, to STAY there, they MUST step up to the plate and protect and nuture their investment, which at the moment must be valued at over 1000% of what they paid for us. Come on John, pull your finger out! You could ensure this team we love are top dogs till WELL after we are gone!! 👍👍 ( ps John, any time you're ready with my season ticket, yeah? 👍😂)

Biggest difference in Liverpool in my opinion is that they haven’t had any crucial injuries with the exception of Alisson (Kelleher is amazing he has not really been missed) and Jota who is great but with so many attacking options up front it’s the same concept. In other seasons there was always an injury that really affected them, Diaz being out, Thiago being out, Gravenberch, Jota being out multiple times at crucial times, not to mention the season they had most of their defense out injured it was madness. So far this season has been the first in a long time where I see they have the depth to rotate the squad to handle all their competitions. Hopefully their players can continue to remain healthy for them to win more silverware.

The scenario is near the same. There is a chance that Slot can be the Paisley to Klopp's Shankley. Only time will tell, and thr game has changed so much since those two were at the helm. But Shankley left the club in good stead for his successor...Klopp did the same thing. Jürgen was about turning things toward an upward trajectory, the fact that he left with his head held high and didn't go out on a low, be sacked or anything most managers of other clubs go through says a lot. He invested in his knowledge of the club's history and must have seen the potential parallels of his and Shankley's tenures. Shankley left as a club legend and hero, with the club and squad in a healthier position than when he arrived, well beloved and adored by us fans, Jürgen wanted the same and did his best to leave that way.

As a city fan seeing Liverpool being good again after 2 years is really interesting lets see how the title race will go especially with city dropping points and Arsenal still in the mix of things

I think if we beat you at anfield and make it 8 points then like 19/20 we go on to win the league. If you beat us though then I wouldn't rule out a 5 peat. Arsenal missed the boat last 2 seasons. Don't see them winning it.

Liverpool were good last season considering the injuries and playing the youngsters. They were leading the Premier League in March when City got lucky to not concede that blatant last minute penalty. That could have been a game changer. They ran out of steam after that game.

Liverpool were good last season as well. Injuries just took their toll and the squad fatigued in the last 8 games of the season. And the refs taking almost 10 points didn't help.

The thing that really impresses me about Slot, is that Liverpool improve in every second half. He consistently analyses the first half, identifies and then implements improvements. Its genuinely the sign of a master coach.

It would be interesting to see Liverpool vs Barca this season. Arguably the most in form teams atm.

Great vid, enjoyed that you did a decent dive into Liverpool stats AND history despite not being a fan. Early days but I feel good about this season, a season of transition where we're top of the league a third of the way through (with a buffer!) and top of the newfangled UCL log? I'll take it! Shankly ----> Fagan Klopp ----> Slot Liverpool fans, ke nako!

You have my respect despite being a UTD fan yourself. We still have a long way to go this season, plenty of more games to go. But if we keep playing how we've been lately, that 20th title could be coming.

I felt like rival fans predicting we'd fall off was just them being hopeful. Anyone comparing klopp leaving to fergie was just lazy analysis, situation of the club was completely different. I just hope some of our players now will get their deserved flowers now. The goal posts of people trying to judge us have shifted so much already this year that now people can't downplay this team anymore without outing themselves as heavily biased. Salah is in the same category as Henry, really hope we win something this year for him and vvd etc

If you’re gonna mention the success after Shankly you should at least mention the managers name who guided it! Bob Paisley

Big part of our incredible 90+ points tally seasons is Pep Ljinders' tactical shift to a more controlled style to try to get more consistency. So Klopp's team at its best tried to control games as much as possible rather than the 'heavy metal' style.

Another area where Liverpool have improved massively is counter attacks. Almost all their goals come from counter attacks and they don't seem to be wasting away the counter attack chances

Liverpool are playing much more controlled than in previous years, definitely helpful for injury prevention
with the performance of liverpools main 3 (salah, trent, vvd) they would be absolute fools to let them leave on frees this summer

Klopps rebuild felt successful to him and this season hes proven right. Slot deserves alot of credit for the way he handles everything, the media, the squad, the league... But lets not forget, Liverpool made only 1 signing for this season (Chiesa) and he hasnt played many minutes due to fitness issues. So well and truly, this is Klopps squad. However, Slot found ways to improve the likes of Gravenberch, Diaz, Nunez etc in ways Klopp didnt.
