Good analysis but you forgot to mention the substitution made by Luis Enrique. Morata was a good substitution, but the other ones were bad, especially Koke for Gavi and Nico Williams for Asensio. The Spanish pressing efficiency changed completly which let Musiala and the centerbacks with more space . Combined with Sané substitution on 70', that explained the come-back for Germany. Before that, spanish mildfielders were crushing the germans. Nonetheless, the 1-1 draw is fair as Spain dominated the first 70, but could have loss in the Last 20.

First time on this channel, i started with Argentina-Poland, and this is my third video, suberb job. You have a new subscriber. Cheers from Argentina. PS: Spain suffer when Busquets gets tired, as Barcelona does for the past two years. So, was a really good move to put Musiala one on one agains him in late game situations.
@michaelduan68292 жыл бұрын
It is mandatory for Germany to use a tall strong striker in order to totally free Musiala, they need someone to be able to maintain and get the long balls in the front pitch instead of Müller or HAvertz playing with Musiala, since Musiala is a perfect choice for the second striker they don't need another second striker, they need Füllkrug, like the function of Giroud to free Mbappe for France, and Füllkrug has fully proved that he is good enough to play for the team and everything fits and goes well when he and Sane got subed on. And also, Sane should be playing instead of Gnabry when playing against the strong team, they need the speed and creativity that Sane has much more than Gnabry when playing against a strong team, combined with Musiala next to him and Füllkrug up front this team can do much more than they have done, like the last 20 mins of the last game, they dominated the offense since Sane and Füllkrug played.
@blas_de_lezo73752 жыл бұрын
From a spaniard: musiala was the best player on the pitch, no doubt.
@limonscore2 жыл бұрын
Sane was slightly injured maybe that's why he was kept as a substitute and there where some games where Sane played from the start and performed well but only until like the 70 minute. Gnabry can play consistent 90 minutes and leaves the option for other subs If needed
@lijunc042 жыл бұрын
Flick should have started Fullkrug, don't get why he insists not to. Muller is most effective between the lines building up attack, not at front.

Flick knows Müller playa best behind the striker yet he used him as a CF. Made no sense. Fullkurg should have started with Müller in behind and Musiala Gnabry/Sane on the wings. Instead they got sent home early

I would divide the game in three phases. Phase (1) was the first half -- Spain used their goalkeeper to make Germany's high press ineffective, circulated the ball, Pedri and Gavi made some good runs and plays, but the lack of a good forward hurt Spain (Ferran just as terrible as in Barcelona). Germany had little possession and didn't know what to do with the ball. The German wingers were mostly occupied with defending. Spain dominated the game here. Phase (2) was the first 30 mins of the 2nd half -- Germany committed to a much higher and riskier press, and forced lots of turnovers. Kimmich and Goretzka started appearing everywhere. However, Spain scored in an isolated play. Luis Enrique made some changes to get fresh legs and to close off the game, betting than Germany would push and they'd get counterattacks. Although Spain still had more possession and scored, Germany dictated play. Phase (3) started with the German substitutions. The positional changes, bringing in a large target man, and Sane as an extra threat freed up Musiala. After this, Germany were clearly on top, and Spain were lucky not to lose, especially with the chance Sane wasted at the end. A 1-1 tie is reasonable, but Germany had the momentum at the very end and could have won it.

I love your videos! Will be a tactical analysis for Portugal-Uruguay game? Or maybe even Iran-USA?
@quangtrungbui6752 жыл бұрын
I would like to make some additional details in this match. Initially, Flick ordered his team to man-mark everyone all around the pitch, and Kimmich, Goretzka, Gundogan also man marked Gavi, Pedri, Busquets. What you mentioned in the video was not true in the first half. Spain, especially the midfied trio, literally got choked from the extreme aggression of Flick's mid/high-block.The best adaptation of the Spanish was Asenjo dropping deep to be an extra passing bridge to transfer the ball to Busquets, who would switch the ball to the spacious other side. Throughout the match, Flick's mid/high block made the other team totally unable to progress through the midfield and had to rely on the flanks. Flick's all-out changes almost won Spain if not Sane's sloppy finishing touches, wasting no less than 3 big chances for the team. Someone will argue that was because Luis swapped Gavi for Koke and lost the control, that was not true though, he wanted to add more solidity to his midfield and avoid being overwhelmed by Germany's. Flick decided to do something quite...silly but understandable that Goretzka would replace Kimmich as the sole pivot while his dude getting his number 8 role. This is probably the best option in the situation. We need to remember 2 things: First, Kimmich sucks at the single pivot role due to his modest body frame and physical strength, Enrique is very like Flick in a point that he loves verticality and transitions, and Goretzka knows how to play single pivot. Second, Goretzka is pretty much like Declan Rice as they are both box-to-box mids and they know how to play the pivot role. But......he still sucks, and he got many criticisms after the match, which is understandable since the number of players exceling at the pure No.6 single is as rare as gold. If I had to rate two coaches' tactics in this match, in the first half, Flick earned 7.5/10 for daring to get his team stand on their ground against Luis' Spain and almost got them, and Luis earned a 8.5 for having the team adapt quickly to such pressure, this was no regular high-press, Flick ultilized Heynckes' pressing style, the pressure was horrific when compared to standard high-press. In the second half, Flick's bravery to sacrifice defense for more firepower leading to completely unpredictable attacking dynamics earned him a 9.5, Spain was good though, but since he accepted to exchange Gavi's potent danger for better defense to help them tolerate Germany's extreme fury, he made them less sharp when transition situations occur, so he earned a 7.8.
@JackSordakaPVS2 жыл бұрын
Just a suggestion: break down your paragraphs into smaller points. Becomes much more readable. 🤘🏼 I agree with the bravery part, but FMS grades the tactics, not the human emotions. And it was a Spanish mistake that got punished in the end. One might argue that unconventional pressing style by Flick forced that error, but Spain typically doesn't make such errors under pressure. Just like Sane was wasteful, so was every Spanish forward. So this point from both sides cancels out.

When was the last time Pep won a Champions League? He certainly had the budget and player material to do so both at Bayern and City. Great coach who often got outcoached in crucial knockout games. Flick did the actual coaching work under Jogi Low and won the world title in 2014. Also won the treble with Bayern on his first attempt. I would not call that 'bad'.
@quangtrungbui6752 жыл бұрын
if you say so, list your arguments nuthead. Pep won UCL by relying on Messi's talent, that's a fact. Since his last UCL in 10/11 season, has he earned any? Bayern, Man City, the clubs with insane budget, facilities and culture to satisfy his needs? So what? This is a fact, club coaches almost never decides or agrees to train a national team, Flick earned nearly everything from club side to international. Why you call him bad? If he was a bad coach in the first place, no senior players at Bayern would have accepted him.
