Never had the footbed upgrade, but my local ski shop put in some wedges under the footbed to help my flat feet. Helped immensely

Skiing is from the foot up. A proper footbed is the foundation from which you transfer pressure to your skis to initiate and control your turn. I been using Footbeds since they were introduced decades ago. Working in a ski shop I have made and skied in custom Footbeds and appreciate the difference it has made in my fit and improved feel and performance. The last 5-6 seasons I have been using the pre molded Superfeet ( Green) Footbeds I sell to my customers and absolutely love them. I use them in my backcountry touring and my front side / Freeride boots. This was a very accurate and professional video that did a great job of explaining the benefits pre molded and custom Footbeds.

You have now sold me on them. I first heard about them for Ski Boots 30+ years ago when I was teaching skiing and I thought the same way you did. Will purchase them for this upcoming ski/snowboard season.

Thanks for confirming! I’ve been fighting foot pain/ach for a number of years, and recently discovered I have a longer arch. I’m pretty sure my straps have been collapsing the front of my arch when I’m buckling in. You’re one of the very few I’ve found explain a poor fitting arch length. Can’t wait to go try out my “upsized” footbed!

I'm still rockin' the footbeds that I bought at West Coast Sports in 2013 for my snowboard boots & I bought super feet liners for the ski boots in 2017. The structured liners are much better than stock footbeds.

Nice! Funny though, I manage West Coast Sports these days. I was the tech back in 2013.

I bought new ski boots last Wednesday, and had custom foot beds, and they are painful, think of a metal rod the diameter of a pencil going across the arch just after your heel. I'm going back to the fitter on Friday to see if he can soften the foot bed, if he can't to make my new boots more comfortable, as I have low arches i.e. half an inch, I'm going to ditch the custom foot bed and get a low arch commercial foot bed to see if that helps, as it currently is I couldn't possibly wear the boots as they are for a day, let alone a week, as I might as well wear rental boots.

If my boot size is 27.5 should I get a size 27 footbed or 28?
@MountainVibes2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the brand. The Boot Doc ones in the video only come in sizes on the 0 (27.0, 28.0). Usually you stick with the 27, but if your arch is longer, you may have to size up, then trim to fit your boots. Superfeet have to be size exclusively to your foot shape, not the size of your boot.

We sell Superfeet Footbeds. They recommended placement of your feet on Footbeds to see how In conforms to your arch. Some skiers need a size up then we trim the excess off the toe.

Can you get these in ski shop or better to go to a foot clinic
@MountainVibes10 ай бұрын
You can get both trim to fit, and custom fit at ski shops. Many go to a foot clinic if they have specific foot issues that need to be addressed. Most people will opt for the ski shop ones. Different shops carry different brands. Just make sure they fit your feet.

Where can I get these insoles, I don't want to spend tons of money on them

We sell Superfeet pre molded Footbeds at my ski shop. The MSRP is about $50-$55. I use this same footbed in all my ski boots. Started with custom molded model 30 years ago but switched to per molded so I don’t have to swap them out from my front side boots to my backcountry touring boots.

If your feet float around in your boot, the boots are too big.
