What a fantastic update with a lot of good information. One thing that LA Metro needs to be commended for and not given enough credit on is the inclusion of artwork by local artists from day one. Artwork has always been an important aspect of station design and architecture from the first Blue line station that opened in 1990. In many cases, the artwork is part of the stations' structural design. I'm not sure if there is any other metro system in the world that has mandated local artists as an essential aspect of station design. As a native Angeleno, I'm so proud of our Metro station designs.

The artwork gives each station it's own unique flair, so they're not all cut-and-paste or something. It really is a nice touch.

California state law requires public art to make up one quarter of one percent of the cost of any major public works project.

🤞🤞Looking good. Looking like Glendora and San Dimas is basically done with La Verne and Pomona stations with their lots done right before testing is finished. The return of Warped Tour next year was just announced, which means the Fairplex may be used again for it, and this would be ideal for attending. May be using La Verne station in 2025 not just for LA County Fair in May, but also warped tour in mid 2025, can't wait!

Do we have any updates coming up?

It cant be more Southern Californian than having surface parling right next to a light rail station! What a great use of land, screw houses and the housing crisis! Peak SoCal land use!

True. That's what I think every time I watch these videos, what a painful waste of space it is to create nothing but surface parking around these new stations. 😢 Absolutely wasted potential.

Patience....it will come. Also it's usually the cities along the corridor that demand parking at the station. So each city has to individually approve a housing / ToD project and different cities are at different levels of maturity when it comes to working on such projects.Agree though it's really stupid to put in surbs for what will ultimately be a temporary parking lot.

Chill dude. Usually development follows transit

Not excusing it but these stations are about 30 miles outside of downtown Los Angeles. Not the most urban of areas. One can only hope these cities can plan to urbanize these areas over time.

It’s an extended parking lot for event and nightlife areas. It’s better than having all the cars drive and park in the already dense traffic destination area. It improves safety and reduces emissions no matter how you look at it.

What beautiful station artwork! Unfortunately, it's only a matter of time before the crackhead zombies (who ride the rails for free) will deface and destroy these treasures.

They won’t be able to, Metro is introducing tap to exit meaning a near perfect homeless repellent.

What's wrong with you? It's obvious you don't ride the metro. So you're clueless.

maybe we should invest in carrying for these people and identifying the pitfalls that lead thousands down this path instead of dehumanizing a situation that cannot strictly be reduced to a moral/individual failing.
