When you said you passed burrells Ford campground you were literally standing in the middle of it. Kings Creek falls is part of burrells Ford campground and the parking lot that you were looking at, was the parking lot for the campground. you were literally there while you were questioning yourself, and looking at the sign. Great video

I just found your channel as I was getting ready for work. I plan on hiking the Foothills Trail in the fall of the 2020. I love how you video provide me with a different perspective. Different perspectives provide more information to improve an individual's hike. Good luck on your future trips. You just earned a new subscriber. P.S. you are not that inexperienced. You are smarter than your last hike.

So every step of the way every signage every campsites i took photos of. So viewers can see how it looks like out there and what to expect. I am so happy you subscribed as I am planning on hiking somewhere next week. Hoping it will be open. Good luck on your adventures.

Sure, it’s ok but it’s still ridiculous, most likely nothing is going to happen to you the safest place in America is definitely on the trail and the next safest place is the small towns close to the trails. You need to stop watching the news and learn to love your neighbours not fear them ❤️

@outdoorsywannabe18883 жыл бұрын
I used a miniature map. First I planned how many days it will take me to finish it versus how many miles I can hike in one day. Based on where the campsites are, I averaged 10 miles a day. I carried all my food. The key is to plan your food so you dont over pack.

You are carrying way too much but you are strong and your spirit is strong.

With no cell service, did you consider carrying an inReach device?
@outdoorsywannabe18883 жыл бұрын
I had cell service every 2 hrs. Each time I was on the top of the mountain. I update my gps tracker which is the life360 that my husband keeps on eye on. I did not have inreach, but I have it now. I personally dont like to carry it with me on FHT if I ever go on it again.

I'm going to thru hike this one as well. Great video! I would suggest getting a Garmin InReach Mini or a Garmin InReach Explorer+ (has an SOS button) if you haven't already gotten one - just in case you get hurt and don't have cell service. You should post a video of your gear and items you would cull vs items you would keep!

I stumbled across your videos during some late night KZbin viewing. Congratulations on finishing the Foothills Trail! Quite an accomplishment for you first long-distance hike. The Foothills Trail is my favorite trail. I hiked it at the end of December. If you're interested, here's a link to my trail journal: www.trailjournals.com/journal/24093. There's some gear talk as well as what happened on the trail - good and bad. Some unsolicited advice: You have too much stuff - probably food and clothes. Ditch the water bladder. You can screw the Sawyer onto a SmartWater bottle and either filter it into another bottle or drink directly from it. Make sure you put your snacks for the day into your hip belt pockets before you leave camp. Set an alarm to wake up, and work on breaking down camp more efficiently. Again - congratulations!
