While Nuisance trapping I had to switch gears to catch these beavers. footholds in open water was the key! Now these homeowners will stop losing trees and property!

Great video. Wow, pretty hardcore beaver trapping, no messing around. I have a beaver in a lodge that has sprung my 330's at the entrances twice. Not quite sure how it's doing it, no sticks in the traps. Maybe you know. Anyhow, I'm going to put a couple drowners on the dam, not enough depth around the house. I caught a beaver on one of Kirk's muskrat floats the other day. It was a freak'in miracle. Thanks for all the great tips.

I just discovered your channel. I lived in a semi rural community in upstate new york for a couple years in my teens. Some of my friends trapped muskrat in the creeks nearby. I'm not sure if you check comments but.. I've trapped for years and seen a lot of drowning rods. I've always used wire but the rods are interesting me lately. I'm in Missouri with Sandy rocky bottoms in several rivers and creeks. I get all the concepts of the rod and building them. By chance do you or are you willing to make a quick video for people like me to explain the drowning rod and what bottoms do and don't work with them? Thank you and great videos.

I don't have nearly the experience trapping that Scott does, but I'm a hardcore duck hunter and a casual beaver trapper. I beat waders up pretty badly to a point that they also only last a year. I used to think that I had to spend $350+ on a top notch set of waders. No one ever accused me of being a genius though, so after 15 years or so, I finally decided that I was wasting my money and I bought a $109 pair of waders from rogers sporting goods under their store brand name. What do you know? For the first time, I had a pair of waders get me though two years. Not only that, but as of now, I survived duck season and they are still going! Unless the early 2021 beaver season does them in, then they'll start the 2021 duck season in October for year #3. Best waders I ever bought!

How many size in the 330 traps? There several brand and numbers but still under the 330 trap. And those are under water animals why would they get drown from foot trap?
@jacobmorales4714
@jacobmorales4714 11 ай бұрын
330 is the size, and foothold traps are attached to a rod or cable so that when the beaver get caught in the foothold they naturally want to dive into the water and can’t come back up since there is a one way cable or rod slide that holds them underwater, drowning them
