Little trick i was taught for showing in hand is when stood in a line get a bit of grass or a treat in your hand and hold under her nose. This will encourage her to drop her head and give a nice shape to her neck. Also don't be afraid to run quickly it will encourage her to use her knees and lift her tail showing off her strides and the action in her legs. Practice at home so you know the perfect pace to get the best from her. Overall have fun. You and Bonnie will learn from every show what works for you both. She has the potential to go far. I miss showing my ponies. Will enjoy watching you on your journey with her

I think you should take her out showing as I think it's such good life experience for babies - they see so much that nothing phases them - them I showed my welsh part-bred from about 8mths and she was so easy to break and was completely bombproof - she'd seen so much out showing nothing bothered her
@NoThankUBeQuiet2 жыл бұрын
Late but agreed. My horse was shown in hand when she was young and honestly its the best thing anyone did for her, she travels incredibly stayed on the same property for 10 years and then didnt blink when she left. She just like gets off the trailer and looks left looks right puts her head down and says lets go. No tension no excitement nothing. I don't think you have to do well just get out there.

I am a huge fan of Bonnie! Since her first vlog when you picked her out of many. She was beautiful for her first show! Really like the white cotton rope halter ( head collar). Clean and simple, not taking away from her beautiful head. Love how she is more gray/ dappling on the back half. For her first show taking home 2 third place and a fourth isn't too shabby! By the way you looked soooo smart! The hat was the topper! Thank you to Matty (Maddy?) for helping out and giving encouragement. Well done all! Look forward to more of Bonnie in the snow ring. PLUS...it being a surprise event. That was fun!!!! Stay safe! 🐎🐎💖😎

She is SUCH a little beauty. I was laughing at your optimism about bathing her the day before, and just having to do touchups on show day. My grey Arabian almost never rolled in mud or guck. He preferred dry sandy areas, which I was always grateful for... EXCEPT the day of a show. He would inevitably find the GREENEST, OOZIEST pile of poo on the farm, and roll in it. Covering his entire side with green stains that took massive effort to scrub out. Even when I blanketed him, he would manage to cover his belly, and up his legs and tail with it. EVERY TIME. You were very lucky. You also did fine at the show. More ground work will help. But really, I loved her sass. hahaha
